Wasn't aware of it, so I just blocked the number.

Ah, I wish I hadn't picked up my phone while I was overseas. It ended up costing me loads! The caller said they were from Sky, but I’m not so sure about that. Definitely don't recommend answering if you don't know who's on the other end.

Claiming to be from Sky, it honestly felt like I was chatting with a call centre based in India. At the very least, they picked up on our surname!

Someone called claiming to be from Sky, saying they were giving me a free TV package for a whole year as a way to thank me for being a customer. They insisted it was no cost to me at all. They even mentioned I had Sky broadband and line rental on my account. Then they asked for my password and the last two digits of the direct debit I use to pay - which, supposedly, is something real Sky security might ask for. I told them I wasn’t interested and refused to share any details, and they just hung up. Afterwards, I contacted Sky using a different phone to check, and they confirmed it wasn’t them calling. So definitely a scam - watch out!

Muppet: "Good afternoon, is that Mr XXXXXX?" Me: "Yes, it is." Muppet: "This is Mr Muppet calling from Sky TV. Blah blah blah £6.99. What package do you currently have?" To cut a long story short, called me earlier today. Me: "If you truly worked for Sky TV, you’d already have that info on your screen." Muppet: "Can I speak to Miss XXXXXX?" [There’s no Miss XXXXXX. There's a Mrs XXXXXX who always uses her maiden name, and even a Master XXXXXX, but no Miss. Plus, I’m the one with the Sky account.] Me: "Who exactly are you?" Muppet: "Do you have Sky broadband and a phone line?" Me: "If you were really with Sky, you would’ve seen that already. Goodbye!"

Absolutely, it's a Sky number. Just ring them back and hit 1 to have your details removed from their directory. I’ve just done it myself!

They call all the time but never stay on, just hang up straight away so you get a missed call and no voicemail. If it’s Sky, I really don’t see how that helps them make any money.

I've just got Sky set up about three weeks back. Today, my home line rang, I picked up and they just dropped the call straightaway. This is the fourth time it's happened now. My number's in the directory, if that makes any difference. Purplehaze.

My phone has been buzzing non stop with calls from this number but they always hang up before I can even pick up. Not that I’d want to answer it anyway! It’s really starting to get on my nerves. Hey, I’m really fed up with this number as they ring me nonstop every single day. What I ended up doing was blocking the number using a feature on my Samsung phone, so now whenever they try to call, it just gets rejected straight away.

This number has called me about 18 times up to now, which is really getting on my nerves - some days I get three or four calls! I think it’s those SKY salespeople. I’m actually with 02 and they’ve just switched my broadband to SKY, but honestly, I’m seriously thinking about ditching SKY because of this constant hassle. Proper annoying! Frustrated lass here.

Hey, just to clear things up, I rang Sky myself as I wasn’t totally certain either. I’m with O2 at the moment, but since Sky have taken over O2’s broadband and home phone, they’re moving me across. The deal’s actually great - I’m getting free Sky HD for a year with no strings attached, installation’s on them, and my bills stay exactly what I was paying with O2. Plus, unlimited broadband’s free too. Really happy with how it’s turned out!

Around 1:04 pm, I got a phone call and picked up, assuming it was the parcel service I'd used earlier this week. It's strange how this scammer knows not just my number but also that I switched to Sky from O2 recently. Makes me wonder if some third party has managed to breach Sky's systems or something. Anyway, I did answer, but the call was just dead silence for a second before they just cut off.

Got a call from this number a moment ago. Didn’t pick up since it looked unfamiliar to me. Figured I’d look it up online just to see if it was something important, especially odd for a Saturday. Glad I ignored it after all.

Beware, do NOT pick up this number! I got a call from a guy with an African accent on my phone, asking for my Sky account information. I immediately said no and hung up. After checking this site, I’m really relieved I didn’t share anything! It’s definitely a scam, be careful! FYI, Sky never calls you directly like this!

Over the last few weeks, this number has rang me quite a few times. I picked up once last week and an Indian chap came on the line pretending to be from customer service, asking about my account. I didn’t share any info and he just hung up. Then this morning, a woman phoned saying she was from SKY, asking if I'd got the dongle they supposedly sent me. When I said no, she said it was fine and they’d send another. She explained that because some engineers hadn’t turned up to sort my broadband on time, they didn’t want me left without internet. She asked for my address, postcode, and password to confirm. Naturally, I declined and told her I needed proof she was actually from SKY. She insisted she was, but after I ended the call and rang SKY myself, they had no clue who she was. If you’re ever unsure, it’s best to contact SKY yourself.

Today, I got a call like this and my immediate reaction was to just end the call. Then I rang Sky myself to let them know about it. The person I spoke to was really nice and helpful, and they assured me they'd pass the info over to Sky’s fraud team. So honestly, if you get one of these calls, just hang up straight away and make sure you report it to Sky yourself!

They said they were from Sky TV and wanted my full name and address. When I couldn't provide the password, they didn’t bother with the usual security question. Definitely felt like a scam to me. Plus, it was at 3pm on a Sunday, which seemed odd.

We've been getting calls too, claiming they're from Sky! My missus got some texts but she ain't the one named on the account anyway. Sky always asks to speak to me if they ring, so these calls just seem like dodgy scams to me. Just delete and don't bother replying - job done! Make sure you report the number to your phone provider and also the TPS (Telephone Preference Service). Though honestly, the TPS hasn't been much help for me. Even when I tracked down loads of info about annoying callers, they said there's nothing they can do! Still, might as well give it a go, I guess!

I just got a call from this number claiming to be from 'Sky'. They started with that typical cold-caller chit-chat like "How’s your day going?" and "We have some great deals you might like." I quickly told them I wasn’t interested in any deals. Then they said I needed to update my account details. When I asked what exactly, they kept dodging and said they had to go through all the information with me. I wouldn’t have it and pressed them again for specifics. Eventually they said I hadn’t set a password on my account. I told them I definitely had, but they insisted I hadn’t and needed to set one now. I told them I had no way of knowing they were genuine and refused to set any password over the phone to someone I don't know.

This number kept ringing me up a few times. Each time I picked up, they pretended to be from SKY and tried pushing some "existing customer" deals. When I asked them to prove they were legit, they only gave me some vague and wrong details about my SKY setup and what I supposedly pay monthly. I said I’d prefer to ring SKY on their official number instead, but they insisted the offer was only valid if they’re the ones calling! Then they wanted me to confirm my address and account password, which I refused and told them I was hanging up.

Don’t share anything with these people - it’s clearly a phishing scam.

They’re relying on the idea that loads of households have SKY, so eventually they get a few victims.

If you’ve already handed over your details, contact SKY immediately and change your password!
