We received a call from the number 02920020089 and, foolishly, I ended up sharing our personal information with them. To our surprise, we discovered a deduction of £99.99 from our bank account, which turned out to be from a company named Marketing United Kingdom Ltd based in Swansea, charging us £89.99. I'm a bit baffled and just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to reclaim our funds? Anyone else had a similar experience?

It's definitely not Carphone Warehouse; it seems to be yet another phishing scam. They try to create the illusion that they're affiliated with CPW or Phones 4U, attempting to persuade you into reducing your phone insurance. Ultimately, they deceive you into handing over your bank and card information. If you happen to engage in a conversation with these individuals, make sure to immediately notify your bank to block your card and cancel any direct debits. In subsequent calls, they’ve taken to identifying themselves as a company called Mac-Wireless. Apparently, they’re based in Cardiff. Truly, these are unscrupulous con artists!

Has anyone taken the step to inform the bank, fraud squad, or the police about the Sinclair megaprinter company yet?

At Qiki, one might ponder! Over at Mimi, I wonder: did you share any of your information, or did these individuals simply infiltrate your account and clear everything out? That certainly raises some alarm bells!

This number has rung us yet again-just ignore it! Honestly, some individuals really need to find better things to do with their time!

Hi there, everyone. Just wondering if anyone's managed to retrieve their funds yet? I'm feeling quite frustrated as I'm still battling to get my money returned! Does anyone have any updates or advice? Or should we just throw in the towel and accept our losses? Cheers!

We received a call today from someone purporting to represent our insurance company, and this individual identified themselves as John. We had previously set up our phone service through Phones 4u, and our network is with Vodafone. It feels like there's something suspicious afoot; these people seem to possess all our personal details including our bank and contract information, along with our address. It’s no surprise really that our bank account has been wiped clean - our statement shows transactions linked to Tech Direct Ltd. When we tried to call back, we were met with nothing but verbal abuse over the line. This reeks of an inside scam!

We received a call from this number, claiming to be a customer advisor from Carphone Warehouse. They were requesting our card details to process a £150 deposit for a mobile contract. However, it turns out they had also charged us £99.99 for DLC Services Ltd in Swansea, which appears to be for vehicle parts. Is there anyone out there who can help identify the caller associated with this number? Please reach out to us at 07853736443. Much appreciated!

We were using an O2 phone contract through Carphone Warehouse when we received a call from this number. Unfortunately, we foolishly shared our personal details, and now £99.99 has vanished from our account. We've since altered our account details, but it would be great if there were a way to retrieve that money.

Oliver: Do you reckon there might have been some sort of collusion between Vodafone and Phones 4U regarding this situation? We bought our new mobile from Phones 4U and were also tied into a contract with Vodafone. Cheers!

We've received this call multiple times now, along with another one that came up as a personal number just before. It usually rings once or twice, and when we pick up, it just disconnects. Does anyone know who's behind this, and how we can put an end to it?

Our father received a call from these individuals, and let's just say he's rather gullible when it comes to scams. After he unwittingly shared his date of birth and card details with the bloke on the other end, our mother jumped in and started interrogating them about mobile phone unlocking. They were completely flummoxed by her questions, and I daresay they got an earful! The fella on the line ended up hanging up on our mother rather rudely, which is rich coming from someone trying to swindle people! Honestly, it’s quite disgraceful to try to fleece others like that. Just a word of advice: always stay vigilant when someone is fishing for personal details, and don’t hesitate to turn the tables and ask your own questions!

We received a call from a so-called 'company' claiming to be affiliated with Carphone Warehouse, urging us to activate our contract. Almost immediately, as we tried to withdraw funds, a hefty £99.99 vanished from our account! We've reached out to Carphone Warehouse, O2, the police, and our bank for assistance. What steps can we take to recover the lost money?

Beware of this number! It rings up with all sorts of dodgy offers, usually about insurance or something equally suspect. They’ll attempt to fish for your banking and personal information. Once they've got that, don’t be surprised if your card gets charged for unwanted purchases, and they might even keep trying. Steer clear of this number, everyone; it’s not above board at all!

We received a call from this number earlier, but as soon as we picked up, the line went dead. It's worth noting that this happened on our new mobile, which we got through CPW. We've been advised to expect such calls and to never divulge any personal information. This marks the third time I've been contacted regarding insurance since Friday!
