They insisted that there was an issue with my computer and, as a registered Windows user, they claimed they could identify the fault. When I pressed for details, the representative-who had a distinct Indian accent-identified himself as Justin Rogers. To add to the oddity, they provided me with two phone numbers for follow-up: 02033185211 and 02920008744. After installing CCleaner-which is available for free-they then proceeded to remotely access the individual’s computer. Upon rebooting, they had the audacity to alter her Windows logon password and seized control of her email account, leaving our colleague completely locked out. In the end, we managed to reclaim access to her Windows account using a Linux tool, but the email remains off-limits.12 yearsThis morning we received a call that our phone identified as "international. number hidden." The voice on the line belonged to a woman with a thick accent, making it rather tricky to comprehend her. When we probed for more details, she claimed to be Sandra Williams and insisted she was calling from Cardiff, providing us with a 0292 number. We found it quite surprising that it could actually be linked to Cardiff. Given the circumstances, we opted not to return the call. Remarkably, the same individual-or possibly another international caller-made three more attempts to reach us today.
