I received a rather dodgy automated call claiming to be from my internet service provider, saying that my IP address had essentially been compromised by a number of foreign entities. The message threatened that my internet would be disconnected within the next 48 hours. To supposedly resolve the issue and shift my IP address, I was instructed to press 1 to speak to an 'engineer.' At that moment, I decided to terminate the call and thought I’d just bide my time to see if my internet actually goes down. What a con, right?
