7 yearsI got a call from someone claiming to be with Microsoft, saying there was an issue with my computer. Like I usually do, I just hung up straight away. But then I got another call almost immediately, from a different guy who also had an Asian accent and introduced himself as Alex as well. This time, he went on about someone trying to hack into my account. When he asked me to log into my computer, I told him no and ended the call.MicrosoftAlex7 yearsWhen I told the bloke it was a con, he went mad and started swearing, dropping the f word loads and calling me a b**ch. He insisted there was an issue with my PC, saying it had been hacked and got some sort of malware. He told me to turn my computer on and sit in front of it. My phone usually switches to voicemail, and as soon as it did this time, the caller hung up straight away. Strange behaviour.7 yearsthis bloke with a strong indian accent claimed he worked in microsoft's security team. he told me that for a few weeks my PC had been flagged for being hacked. to convince me he was legit, he shared a licence number for my computer (i still need to look it up though). then he asked me to press ctrl and 'r' at the same time - i wasn’t sure what that'd do so i just ignored it. also, he said whatever i’m entering is too long but never said how much shorter it needed to be. guess i’ll have to send the rest later or something.Microsoft7 yearssome bloke rang saying he was with microsoft, I told him to stop taking the mickey and asked if he honestly expected me to believe that rubbish. he tried to argue he was legit but I just told him to quit wasting time and find a proper job instead.Microsoft7 yearsAfter I asked what the next step was, he connected me to his 'supervisor' who promised to walk me through spotting and fixing the issue. I told him I was tied up, and he insisted it would only take half an hour. Figured I'd already taken up enough of their time (maybe spared someone else from that call), so I told him I couldn't right then.
