I received a call purporting to be from EE, claiming they could help me save on my data plan by upgrading me to a better deal. I didn't share any details with them and promptly hung up. Then, just two days later, I discovered my EE account had been compromised. They managed to get through EE's security checks over the phone! Fortunately, I received an authentic text from EE, which I promptly acknowledged. While I was in the process of restoring my personal information with them, it turned out the fraudster was also on the line with one of their sales agents, ordering new devices, SIM cards, and even an extra account. Luckily, everything was halted before they could do any significant damage. While I can't definitively link the two incidents, I can't help but feel quite wary of this number.
