I got a call from this number about 40 minutes after receiving one from 01250 561 496, which apparently is marked as a scam. I didn’t pick up on either call, but judging by what others have said, it seems like both calls are dodgy and come from the same source, just switching phone numbers.

Got a call from 07706620872 with someone speaking with an Indian accent claiming they were from Microsoft. I told them I wasn’t convinced and ended the call straight away. Then about five minutes later, another call came through from 02896918783 asking why I had cut off the earlier call. I hung up again and haven’t heard from them since, it’s been around three hours now.

I got a call from someone pretending to be Microsoft, telling me my computer had been hacked. Even after I explained it’s a well-known scam and pointed out the long ID (888DCA60-FC0A-11CF-8F0F-00C04FD7D062) they wanted me to verify on the command prompt, which actually appears on all Windows machines, they kept pushing. Eventually they just hung up. Don’t fall for it! If you search that ID, you’ll see it’s been part of scams going as far back as 2011!

This woman phoned me, saying she was from Amazon's security team because apparently there was some suspicious stuff happening on my account. She kept pushing me to look at an email she'd supposedly sent and wanted me to answer security questions. I told her I hadn’t got any email and that it was pointless, then just ended the call.
