Got a call sayin I’ll be arrested unless I hit number one. They claim it’s about unpaid taxes and I should talk to some HMRC advisor. Yeah, right. HMRC NEVER call you on the phone and they’re definitely not that friendly or polite. Totally a scam! 😄

Today, 21st Feb 2020, my landline rang a couple of times, at about 12.17 and then again around 1.41 pm. Each call was some kind of 'warning' about an arrest warrant against me for supposedly not paying taxes. They told me to hit .1. to speak to a caseworker. Felt pretty dodgy to me.

A man answered, sounded like he had an Indian accent, and asked for my name. I didn’t give it. I asked if he really was from HMRC, and he just said it was me who chose to press 1, so it’s on me if I keep going. When I said I was hanging up, he threatened something like, ‘Okay, but see you in court’. Pretty intimidating!

Got a call saying it was HMRC and I had a warrant for arrest - press 1 to talk to your handler. When I did, a foreign guy answered pretending to be from HMRC and asked what I wanted. I said, “Sure, you’re from HMRC? I’m calling to sort my arrest out then.” After that, he started shouting in some foreign language and hung up. Tried calling back but it just cuts off straight away. These scammers really need to be put an end to.

Got a couple of calls from the same number today. The first time, one of my kids picked up and seemed proper spooked by what the caller said. When it rang the second time, I took it and pressed 1 to talk to whoever it was. A bloke got on the line and asked me to confirm my name. I told him to tell me what he thought my name was instead, and he then started going off with a load of rude stuff, even suggesting something about me and my mum together or something - can’t even repeat it here! Proper nasty behaviour, absolutely shocking. Complete rubbish.
