I received a call from a chap with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. He mentioned that since I’d consistently kept up with my payments, I was eligible for a complimentary three-month period. I played along for a bit but noticed he gave an incorrect postcode and address. When he asked for my account details, I decided to mess with him and mentioned a fictitious bank name. He then requested that I pull out my debit card and read off the 15-digit number. I quickly informed him that I wasn’t naïve and that I’d be reporting his number to the authorities. He promptly ended the call.

I received a call from a woman with what seemed to be an Indian accent, claiming she was from BT. She promised me a whopping 35% reduction on my phone bills, along with no line rental fees. She then proceeded to ask for my details, but when she mentioned my postcode, it didn’t even sound like it belonged to the UK! The address she had was completely off as well, so I decided to end the conversation. Interestingly, I had just been chatting online with BT about their TV service not long before this call. Quite dodgy if you ask me!
