Dont answer if its an O2 number trying to tell you your SIM card needs replacing because of some amazing offer. Its a scam, just hang up and put them on block right away. They just want to trick you!

Got a call claiming it was about my “O2 SIM card,” but I don't even have one. Total scam.

Nothing but a scammer trying to trick people.

This number keeps ringing me up, had two calls just today less than an hour apart. They never bother to leave a voicemail and I always ignore calls from numbers I don’t know.

They called me claiming to be from O2 and attempted to run the SIM card upgrade scam. They asked to verify my identity (not needed simply to send a new SIM) by providing my email (not how identity verification usually works) or the security code from an autogenerated SMS they got O2 to send me (which I should never give to anyone, as it’s only for me to log into my account). When I refused to provide either and pointed out that this isn’t how verification usually proceeds, they said it was to ensure I wasn’t a scammer trying to impersonate myself and intimated that my service wouldn’t work anymore!

Got a call saying my SIM card had to be upgraded, sounded like one of those typical scams. They wanted my email to “check who I was,” but I said no way. Then, they got O2 to text me an automatic message and asked for the security code on it. I told them the text clearly said not to share the code with anyone, and the bloke tried to say it was alright just this once. When I asked why they even needed to check my identity before sending a new SIM, he claimed it was to stop scammers like me or something!

Got a call saying I had to update my SIM or it’d stop working in a couple days. I asked them for the name and address linked to my account, and then they just ended the call.

Somebody rang me saying they were from O2 and that my SIM wasn’t working anymore and needed an upgrade. Thing is, my SIM was fine, no problems at all. I ended up just hanging up on them.

He said he was from O2 and that he needed to verify my number to upgrade me for free. When I asked if we could do this later, he insisted, saying, "Just cooperate with me." I wasn't expecting a call from O2, so I hung up.

I got a call where a guy with an Indian accent asked if I was Jim Bob and how I was doing, then someone speaking with a Chinese accent answered after that.

My phone kept ringing from the same unknown number, but I never picked up. I usually ignore calls from numbers I don’t recognise. They didn’t even bother to leave a voicemail.
