I received a call from a chap sporting a thick Indian accent. I made it clear that I was onto his little scam and suggested he might want to consider a legitimate line of work rather than trying to fleece the elderly. Curiously, I inquired about what his parents might think of his dodgy profession, but he didn’t respond. When I asked if he had any religious beliefs, he promptly hung up. Seems like he didn’t want to upset the Almighty!

Today I kept getting calls from the same telemarketing company, but they kept switching up the numbers. I’ve had around 8 calls already, and even though I’m using BT’s blocker, they just don’t quit. Every time they ring, I have to block the number again. So annoying!

I keep getting calls nearly every day from 02893 652230, which seems to be from Northern Ireland. When I answer, there's just a brief silence before they end the call. I reckon they’re waiting to hear someone say 'Hello'. Apparently, big telemarketing companies use automated systems that ring loads of numbers at once. If a human says hello, the call gets sent to an agent. But if there’s no agent free within 5 to 10 seconds, the system just drops the call and tries again later. Just a heads up for anyone else getting these annoying silent rings!

A caller claimed to be from BT's billing department, saying I could get a quarter off my phone bill plus three months of free line rental! How on earth do they have my postcode and full address? Got a call from a woman speaking with an Asian accent, asking to speak to the person who has the BT account. I don’t have BT, so I told her I couldn’t assist. She then gave me another number to call, but I couldn’t catch it thanks to her thick accent.

What a complete charlatan! Do not fall for their nonsense! The bloke claimed he was calling regarding my television - absolute twaddle! I told him to clear off! I've found that the BT 1572 service works a treat for stopping any persistent calls from such nuisances.

I got around 7 calls in just a few hours from someone saying they were with BT and offering to cut my phone bill by 35%, plus free landline for three months. Then they tried to get me to give my card details. I told them straight up I wouldn’t share any card info since my BT payments come out on direct debit anyway.
