Got a text out of the blue saying it’s from Circet, saying they’re working with my service provider. They said I have a broadband or phone installation booked for tomorrow, but didn’t say when exactly. They also asked me to ring +442893443299 if I can’t make it. I think it was meant to be for Openreach though. Bit odd how they just popped up with this message!

I received a voicemail recently that raised my eyebrows. A woman, speaking in a slow Irish lilt, mentioned she was ringing concerning a broadband setup by Outreach and instructed me to return her call at 02893443299. She sounded as if she was from the Ballyclare region. To be honest, I found the whole thing rather dubious, so I chose to ignore the message and didn’t get in touch. But here’s what’s puzzling me: how on earth did they get hold of my number? And what gave them the idea that I was in the process of switching my broadband? It’s left me feeling quite uneasy!

Got a missed call around 12 or 1 today and then another one later in the afternoon. No idea who they are or what they want. Feels dodgy, maybe a scam? They sounded pretty rude and, in a bit of a daze, I ended up sharing some details with them. They mentioned it was about an appointment with BT tomorrow. What’s the best way to handle this P.A.A. situation? Really not sure what to do now.

Someone’s been ringing the school I work at quite a few times this week, asking for the business manager. They’re never free to take calls like this and only deal with emails - but this bloke says he’s 'not allowed' to email. Then he tries the Headteacher, but as expected, they’re not around either. He promises to ring back the next day, but I keep explaining he needs to email or nothing’s gonna change. When I told him I’d already spoken to him the previous day and asked what this was about, he got annoyed and just hung up. Definitely best to avoid.

Got a call from some place that didn’t even know who they were tryin to reach, but instead of asking who I was, they just asked me to confirm my name. I told them they rang me first, then this really rude Irish woman started pushing about my broadband. Proper nasty and annoying chat, so I just hung up and sent a complaint email to their call centre.

BT Openreach Call Centre I attempted to get through to the call centre on six separate occasions before finally reaching a representative. On three instances, I found myself abruptly cut off whilst waiting on the line. Twice, I was met with a message stating that the office was closed-this was around midday, mind you-and then it disconnected me without further ado. After much perseverance, I eventually managed to speak to someone.

Yeah, it's kn network, I looked them up and they actually have a proper website to show they're legit. They do installs for BT, Sky, and a few others from what I was told.
