I have a firm policy of not picking up calls from unknown numbers, and it’s telling that they never bother to leave a voicemail on either my home phone or mobile. This leads me to believe it’s either unimportant or likely some sort of scam. So, I’ve just gone ahead and blocked them!

I received a call on my mobile earlier today, but they didn’t bother to leave a voicemail.

This particular number seems to be on some kind of mission, ringing my phone nearly every second day only to cut the line right as I pick up. I did try ringing it back once and was met with a lengthy hold, with the person on the other end saying they were "otherwise occupied". I decided it was best to hang up. I can't shake the feeling that this might be a dodgy scheme to lure unsuspecting folks into calling back and racking up some ridiculous charges.
