I got four calls from this number just today.

For the last half year, I’ve had these lot ringing me up one or two times daily. Total scam. They switch up their spiel all the time - one minute it’s a mobile provider, next it’s Microsoft, or whatever. Yesterday, this lass claimed she was from 3 mobile, and when I started cracking up at her, she nearly lost it and started chuckling wildly down the line. If you can spare a moment, mess about with them and don’t hand over any details. Bit by bit, we can wear them down.

I didn't answer the phone, but they left a message that gave me the impression it was someone at a hectic workplace who didn't notice it switched to voicemail. You could hear some shuffling and breathing, then a click as the message finished.

If you're getting suspicious or daft calls, make sure you report them. Just text the number and info about the call to 7726. When loads of people complain about the same number, the phone companies will flag it as dodgy for everyone. Don’t waste time reporting legit businesses though. Any dodgy texts should also be sent over to 7726. For scam emails or screenshots of scammy messages with fishy links or attachments, send them to this email: '[email protected]'. If you think someone’s got hold of your bank details, call your bank straight away and also ring the police on 03001232040.

Got a call from 01182115896 about some phone upgrade or something, sounded dodgy to me, their English was really poor, so I just ended the call. Then they tried ringing me twice on 0289023898. Honestly, no doubt they’re scammers. If these numbers pop up, just don’t answer!

This number called me like 8 times in a row, with just a few seconds between each ring. It wasn't just this one either, I also got calls from some other numbers, one from Northern Ireland (which I looked up here and yep, total scam), a couple from London and two mobiles. After a while I gave up trying to check them all, pretty obvious my number’s been added to some scammers automatic dialler with a load of different numbers. Just bloody time-wasting.

Got a call from a bloke saying he was Joel from Vodafone, trying to pitch an early upgrade. Thing is, I’ve seen calls like this come from a few other London area codes too. Best to just block the number and not bother with it.
