ring 08000155144 to complain, thats the company’s number. i just gave them a bell and really had a go at them, told them if they keep ringing me i’d report it to the police for harassment. the bloke said sorry and explained they’ve got a call centre working for the company. he promised my number would be removed from their list and was proper sorry about it, didn’t try to make any excuses. he even admitted dealing with them is a nightmare.

I recently got a rather concerning phone call from someone purporting to be from Red Star. They mentioned wanting to swing by my place to discuss a credit agreement I supposedly took out before 2009. Mind you, I hadn’t even confirmed my identity to them at that point. I firmly told him to remove my number from their call list. She went on about how MBNA and Barclays had acquired numerous businesses and that if I had indeed opened a loan or credit card before that year, I might be impacted. I pressed her, asking how she could make assumptions about my situation without knowing who my bank was back then or what sort of financial agreements I might have had. She seemed to take offence, insisting she never claimed to possess my banking information. I clarified that wasn’t my point. Then she started mumbling something about poor line quality. At that stage, I had lost interest, so I just set the phone down. She wrapped up the call shortly after that.
