I recently received a call about dealing with unwanted phone nuisances. I mentioned that we were registered with the Telephone Preference Service, but he told me our registration had lapsed. Strangely, he was aware that we pay via direct debit and wanted details to re-register us. He promised to send some information in a couple of weeks once I had completed the registration. When I requested that he send the paperwork beforehand, he insisted that I had to register first before any documents could be sent. In the end, I simply said I’d have to endure the nuisance calls for now.
