8 yearsGot a call from someone claiming to be BT about supposed internet issues. This is actually the fourth different number doing the same thing in just a few weeks. It's really upsetting my elderly mum.BT8 yearsConstantly ringing me, saying they're from BT Openreach. It's quite bothersome and feels very intrusive.BT Openreach8 yearsYesterday, I received a rather persuasive phone call from a gentleman with a South Asian accent who introduced himself as Kevin Turner. He claimed to represent the BT Openreach Technical Department, stating that I was experiencing connection issues-something I happened to be facing. He suggested that I download apps like ConnectWise, GetMeIn, or Supremo, but I was wise enough not to share any access codes. This chap seemed well-informed, rattling off various figures to prove his authenticity. Unfortunately, he was anything but genuine. Both BT and EE later confirmed it was indeed a scam. To my surprise, he rang me again this morning (4 April 18), and I told him he should really find a more honest line of work. It was a close shave! He was quite friendly and convincing, so do exercise caution. I’ll be reporting this to Action Fraud at 0300 123 2040 now. Best, Andrew.Kevin TurnerBT Openreach Technical DepartmentConnectWiseSupremoBTEEAction FraudBestAndrew8 yearsGot a call from a guy with an Indian accent saying he was from Openreach. He told me there was an issue with my router while I was on the internet. Sounded like nonsense to me, so I just ended the call.Openreach8 yearsOver the past couple of days, I've had two calls from people claiming to be with BT saying there's something wrong with my internet. It's amusing because their English was pretty poor, yet they had really typical English names like John and Susan.BTSusanJohn8 yearsThis number's called me about four times, once a day, saying they were from Openreach and there was an issue with my router. But my router’s fine, not an Openreach problem at all. When I tried to ask something, the caller just ended the call straight away.Open Reach8 yearsThis number has been ringing me non-stop, already four times just today. When I checked, it says it’s a landline from Bangor, Northern Ireland. I don’t pick up anymore, getting really tired of these endless calls.BangorNorthern Ireland8 yearsNot long before, I got a call from a number starting with 028, then this one came through too. As soon as I answered, they just hung up.8 yearsSeems like the exact same thing that loads of others have said. Sometimes they just say ‘goodbye’ and hang up, other times they claim there’s something wrong with my BT router sending out signals. I usually just let out a loud whistle into the phone and ignore them.BT8 yearsThis has to be the fifth time they've rung in just a couple of days. Decided not to pick up and all I got was their voicemail saying "goodbye." Typical.8 yearsKept getting calls so I just left a message saying goodbye.8 yearsPhone kept buzzing and when I answered there was just silence, so I ended the call. Tried calling back but it just kept ringing without anyone picking up. Really annoying situation.8 yearsWorst experience ever. Some bloke from overseas kept yabbering rubbish on the phone trying to nick my cash. I even joked about leaving my front door wide open with my bank card just lying there, but he didn’t get the hint at all. Proper muppet.8 yearsJust got another call from some guy with a strong Indian accent claiming to be from BT's 'Tech Support'. Weirdly, this time he hung up before I even got a word in! Sort of relieved about that, to be honest. Like loads of others who have been bombarded by these calls over months, I wonder why this obsession with scamming seems so common in certain South Asian communities? They’ve got some seriously clever people with top-notch IT knowledge, so why waste their talents on these annoying and pointless scams? It’s just embarrassing and a bit pathetic really.Technical Department of BT8 yearsThis number, 02891 817755, has called me like six times over the past couple days. Each time, all they do is leave this weird voicemail saying "goodbye!" Honestly feels like a load of nonsense from complete morons.8 yearsI tried calling at 12:32pm on 28/03/18, but no one spoke when I picked up.8 yearsTotally a scam. Some bloke from India reading off a script, claiming he's from BT. Funny thing is, I ain't even a BT customer. He kept banging on about spyware on my computer. Had a feeling it was bogus, so I just ended the call.BT8 yearsI answered the call but there was nothing but a long pause, then suddenly an automatic voice saying ‘bye’ came through. It was around 1:35pm on the 28th of March, 2018.8 yearsI've been getting calls from this number pretty much every day. Once I found out it was some kind of scam, I just stopped picking up. He insisted there was a problem with my router and offered to sort it out. He even rattled off my name, address and phone number, which freaked me out a bit.
