Got a call on 5th Sept 2020 from someone saying my boiler insurance was about to expire and they could give me a better deal. The caller seemed to know my name, the brand of my boiler, who I had the policy with, the renewal date and even the cost. He spoke with a strong Indian accent. When I asked for the company's name, he just hung up. I rang my actual boiler service provider to check if it was them, but they said nothing was going on and seemed oddly indifferent about it. I reported the incident to both the ICO and Action Fraud. Now the number is blocked on my Caller Protect app.
