Got a call from some cyber fraud lot claiming my PC had been hacked and to hit 1 to get connected to their support. Obviously, total scam, no way I was falling for that!

What a thoroughly unpleasant scam this is! I strongly advise you to BLOCK this number immediately and disregard any instructions from the automated voice. The message I received claimed to be from the National Cybercrime Unit, warning me that my internet was at risk and would be cut off unless I acted swiftly. It then encouraged me to “press 1 to reach our support team” (or words to that effect). Don’t be fooled; doing so will likely connect you to a notoriously pricey premium rate line belonging to these fraudsters. Stay vigilant!

Beware of this one, it’s a real dodgy scam. I got a call from this number with a robotic voice claiming it was the national cybercrime unit saying my internet was at risk and would be cut off unless I did something straight away. It then told me to “press 1 to speak to their support team” or something along those lines. If you do press it, you’ll probably end up on a super costly premium rate phone line run by fraudsters. Just block the number and don’t follow any instructions.

Got a call where there was a recorded message saying it was from the National Cyber Security Service.

Got a couple calls over the last two days from someone claiming to be with BT. Seems like they’re just faking it.
