Had a bloke ring me from Yell.com offering a free listing. It actually landed me a few jobs, which was a nice surprise. I didn’t realise they also do websites now. Proper change from the days of just the yellow pages!

Yell is relentless with their push, trying to get you to splash out loads on old-fashioned ads in the Yellow Pages and on their website. I added a free listing for my business to Yell, and after that, they bugged me non-stop - literally ringing me up around twenty times a day, from Monday to Friday. It’s proper harassment, and no decent firm would be that pushy. They’re doing the same thing with numbers from Northern Ireland too - you can find tons of complaints about it online. Honestly, you’d be way better off putting your advertising money into SEO for your website or Google Adwords instead. Sure, paying Yell might have made sense two decades ago, but not anymore in today’s world.

I’m pretty sure it’s Yell. John came round from a local branch to explain what Yell could do for my business. I always assumed it was just an online version of the Yellow Pages. Turns out they also handle Google and Facebook advertising, which have been really effective for me. Big thanks to John!

Got a call from someone claiming to be a consultant for Yell Business. Sounded a bit dodgy to me, wasn’t sure if they legit. Anyone else had this? Felt like a sales pitch more than anything else.
