Just like a few others here, an elderly mate of mine fell for the same trick and ended up losing £49.60 via PayPal. I suggested she contact PayPal to try and sort a refund, but she was too embarrassed to do so. They promised to ring her later in the month to check everything was fine. They said her computer would be fixed in an hour - I had it sorted in moments. When I searched the phone number they gave her, which wasn’t the same as the one above, I found out an 80-year-old bloke got ripped off to the tune of £272 by these scammers. Honestly, they’re the lowest of the low.

Got three calls like this in one day, all from different numbers! It’s clearly a scam, 'cause every time I block one, another one rings me straight away. So annoying!

Got a call from an automated message saying my router or broadband was at risk and they wanted to send me a free new set-up. Then they told me to press 1 to get through to the right team. Definitely a scam! I've had loads of calls like this from these dodgy people, and they sometimes say they're from BT - even though I don’t even have any BT services.

Just like others have said, I got a recorded voice telling me my IP was hacked in loads of countries or something like that, and they’d block me in a day. They said they’d sort me out with a new router and IP (yeah right). Then they told me to press some buttons on the phone - complete rubbish but sounds risky. My advice? Just end the call without pressing anything!

Got this call from a voice saying my router address was compromised or something and that they had to send me a new setup for free. They said I should "press 1 to speak to the right department," but yeah, sounded dodgy to me.
