Got a call from a woman with an Asian accent claiming to be from BT, saying my internet was going public. When I asked how she got my number since I don't even have BT, she just cut the call. Totally a scam, so I've blocked the number now.

Got a call on my landline early in the morning, about 9am, but no message was left. Seems like a typical scam trying to fish out details about your computer. I just let the answerphone pick up if the number isn’t familiar. Honestly, caller ID is a must these days, and it's best to ignore calls from strange, distant, or premium numbers.

Got a call on my landline at about 9 in the morning but no message left. Seems like these scammers just keep ringing to try and get info about your computer. I always just let the answerphone pick up if I don’t know who’s calling. Honestly, everyone should have Caller ID and just ignore calls from strange or premium numbers, especially if they're from different areas.

Got a call just before 9, about 8.55 ish.

If the phone companies don’t step up, these annoying scammers will just keep calling, trying to rob people who aren’t careful. Honestly, the easiest fix is just to cut off your landline so they have nowhere to reach you.

Ugh, scammers are the worst! They’re such an annoying hassle, and now they’re phoning at the most ridiculous times like early morning or late at night. It’s obviously because they’re in a different time zone, which immediately makes me suspicious. Honestly, these leeches should be left with nothing. My advice? Simply don’t answer when they ring!

I received a call regarding an internet issue and decided to ask the caller why they were using a number from Belfast, given that I have family in that area. There was a moment of silence, and then the call abruptly ended. It's quite clear this was a scam attempt.

Got a call supposedly from Virgin Media, with some rubbish about my IP address being exposed and my router getting hacked. They then started asking how many lights were showing on my router, but never said which ones, just how many in total!!

Got a call from a strange number just after 10 this morning. Didn’t pick up since I didn’t recognise it, and after reading the reviews here, I’m really glad I didn’t! No voicemail or anything, which just makes me more sure it was probably a scam. These weird numbers always make me suspicious.

This call came from someone pretending to be Virgin Media, but their accent was really hard to understand (no disrespect intended). When I told them I actually work at Virgin Media and asked for proof, they couldn’t provide any. So, I turned the question back on them, and suddenly they just ended the call. Definitely a dodgy scam!

This bloke claimed to be calling from Microsoft and asked me to enter EVENTVWR to check for errors and warnings - which showed a usual list. Then he told me to go to www.Anydesk.com. I was quite reluctant to download anything. Next, he had me type ms config and CMD, and instructed me to check Netstat for local and foreign IP addresses. After that, he said to visit www.windows10download, look up AnyDesk, and download it. Still, I wasn’t keen on downloading anything. He said he was calling from Microsoft HQ in Reading, UK.

Somebody rang me saying they were from Microsoft and warned my computer was at risk because of stuff they supposedly got from my licence number. They even gave me a licence number and the genuine Microsoft support number, so it all sounded pretty legit. But I checked with Microsoft directly and they said it definitely wasn’t them!
