I received a rather dodgy automated call that claimed to be from BT. The message alarmingly stated that they had identified some dubious activity linked to my BT landline and broadband IP address, suggesting that I might have been compromised. They ominously warned that both services could be cut off unless I pressed a button to supposedly speak to an agent who could assist with the situation. The catch? My landline and broadband aren't even with BT in the first place! What a farce!
