I received a dodgy phone call informing me that, due to my status as a loyal Vodafone customer with an impeccable payment record, I qualified for a whopping 40% discount. The catch? I've never been a Vodafone customer!

Got a call from 02887079826 claiming I was a loyal Vodafone customer and offering a massive 40% off. He didn't seem to have a clue who actually owns the number. When I told him the phone wasn't with Vodafone, he asked which network I used, and I said definitely not Vodafone. Then he just cut me off. Even though the call came from Ireland, there was no Irish accent - he spoke with an Asian one. Felt like a total phishing scam, very dodgy.

Someone rang me asking if the last four numbers of my card were ****, then started going on about renewing the insurance for some smart gadget I supposedly had. I just ended the call straight away.
