This number has called me three times over the past few mornings, all between 9 and 11 am. It just rings a few times then stops, leaving a missed call. But when I try to call back, a recorded message says the number isn’t valid. So how can it be calling me in the first place? It's really odd.

Loads of silent calls, they never say a word when I answer. If I mention reporting them to the TPS (which I’m signed up with), they just hang up straight away. But that doesn’t seem to put them off, they keep ringing back multiple times every day. They always cut off before my answering machine picks up. Yesterday, I received a call from a woman speaking with a foreign accent regarding my BT bill, despite the fact that we don’t even use BT. I politely told her to kindly take a hike. But lo and behold, this morning I've been pestered by four calls from the same number, shattering my kids' slumber at half six, seven, then again at half eight, and finally at half nine. It seems I've no choice but to block the number. Each time I’ve picked up, it’s been silent on the other end, but I'm convinced it’s the very same number from yesterday.

Got a call early morning at 08:15 on Tuesday, 4th July 2017 claiming to be from BT. Thing is, I’ve never had an account with them. I mentioned that to the caller and, suddenly, the call just dropped. Feels like a dodgy attempt to trick people into giving bank info, definitely a scam in my opinion!

The call sounded dodgy, with a bad connection and an accent I couldn’t place. The person claimed I’d been great at paying BT bills and was eligible for exclusive deals if I just gave my bank info. As soon as I said I hadn’t been with BT for two decades, they cut off. Pretty sure it was a scam.

Got two calls earlier today, the first one was silent as if someone was just listening. The second was way harder to understand, a woman with a foreign accent claiming to be from BT. I told her I wasn’t convinced and mentioned I'm registered with the Telephone Preference Service so she shouldn’t be ringing me. (Though, I know the TPS doesn’t really block calls from abroad.) I ended up hanging up quickly.

I received a call purporting to be from BT, claiming they were offering a complimentary three-month service. The initial caller was a chap with a foreign accent. When I probed him about the last time I had settled my BT Direct Debit, he transferred me to his manager, Ruby, who also had a foreign/Asian accent. She, too, evaded my question and passed me on to yet another manager-this one a rather curt lady with the same accent. I mentioned my suspicion that this was a scam, and she, rather confrontationally, asked me to substantiate my claim. I informed her that I hadn't had a BT account in over two decades. I’ve now blocked this number. Is BT even aware of this situation?
