Got a call around 1.30pm from a bloke with a heavy Indian accent. His English was awful, and he claimed to be from BT, saying there were some error codes showing up on my router. He tried to get me to check the router so he could guide me through fixing it. I just told him to jog on and that I knew full well he wasn’t actually from BT.

This number called me and a bloke with really bad English said he was ringing from BT, my internet provider. I quickly told him: you’re not my provider. He tried to say something else but I reckon he realised I wasn’t goin anywhere and just hung up. I blocked the number since I’ve had these dodgy BT calls before.

Today I’ve had a couple of calls from someone with really bad English claiming to be from BT, saying that folks are using my internet to make inappropriate and harassing calls. On the 1st of August, 2018, I received calls from this number at 09:23, 10:38, and 12:01. I picked up thinking it might be my sister, as she often rings from abroad. The first call was quite chaotic, with a lot of background chatter and noise, while the other two were rather silent with nothing discernible. Quite odd, really!

Some bloke rang saying he was from Virgin Media. When I were like 'oh yeah, really?' he just said 'yeah, motherf##ker' then asked how old I was. Then he just hung up straight away so I blocked the number. I’m an older lady and it left me feeling proper unsettled.

They’ve rung me three times today. I brushed off the first couple, but I finally picked up the third call. I had to say “hello” about five times before a chap barely whispered back. I told him I couldn’t hear a thing. To be fair, I half thought he might have uttered something rather cheeky, but it was far too soft to be certain. I raised my voice, saying I could catch none of it and he was simply wasting his breath, then I hung up. We've got BT Preference set up, but it clearly hasn’t done anything against this caller. Got three calls from this number all in one morning. First time the bloke started with some dodgy excuse about errors, and as soon as I clocked the accent, I called him out for being a scammer. Couple of weeks back, I decided to act clueless just to see how far they'd take it. They got me trying to type stuff in CMD on my computer, which I later learned from BT is a way for them to access your system! I pretended to go along but never actually typed anything. They even gave a supposed BT worker number to prove who they were, claiming they worked out of BT’s London office. They’re very pushy and keep ringing. Got a call from 02882 897935 this morning at 7:17am, proper annoying as I was up late last night. Didn’t pick up since I had three unwanted calls from them yesterday already. The one I did answer seemed like a typical sales pitch. I’m thinking of reaching out to BT to block the number so it stops buzzing my phone.

I keep getting a slew of calls from a mysterious number claiming to be from BT. Interestingly, today they revealed their number, which was quite unusual. Definitely sounds like a scam to me!

Just like others have said, they pretend to be from BT Tech support but it’s totally a scam. Avoid these people!

Like many others have said, I got a call with the same old routine - they said they were from BT, had trouble hearing me coz of loads of background noise. They claimed there were unauthorised folks trying to mess with my internet and wanted to fix my computer remotely. They even knew my name and address, which was quite unsettling. I told them I was fine to chat but wouldn’t let them on my computer, and then they just hung up suddenly. Also had that Indian accent but it didn’t sound like a proper call centre at all.

I have reported this number to Action Fraud, ICO, Ofcom, and also added it to the TPS.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. I was a bit iffy straight away since I’m a BT customer and that voice didn’t sound right at all. I asked him for my account number and he rattled off some digits. I told him they were wrong and he just hung up on me.

Complete fraudster. Claimed to be from BT… I asked for the name of the chairman, and they promptly ended the call.

Picked up the call and was met with a chap sporting an Indian accent, waffling on about some internet issues. I found it rather difficult to follow what he was saying, and it was clear to me that it was all a ruse. So, I promptly ended the call.

Rang me four times in quick succession-just within a quarter of an hour! Clearly unwilling to accept 'no' as a response. Must be some sort of con artists!

Some bloke with an Indian accent claimed he was from BT and said there was an issue with my broadband. I told him "There’s loads of background noise, can’t really make out what you’re saying." Then he yelled somethin’ I couldn’t catch and just hung up on me.

This number keeps ringing me without fail and seems completely relentless-when I say I'm not interested, they don’t take the hint and even have the audacity to get nasty.

I received three calls in rapid succession, and each time I picked up, they just hung up on me. When I attempted to ring them back, the response was a recorded voice stating, "this mailbox is full and cannot accept any further calls." I've gone ahead and reported it to the TPS and ICO. Quite frustrating, really!

Some bloke called Alan from BT or sumthin. Reckon they didn’t realise it's a mobile they were ringing. Got about six calls from 'em today. Probably one of them annoying 'your computer's got viruses' scams.

Fraudulent Activity Alert! This individual claimed to be from BT, offering to safeguard me against pesky emails. Convinced me to follow their instructions to press certain keys, promising they’d help me deal with these so-called malicious messages. But let me tell you, that was all a ruse! Their real intent was to gain access to my computer, aiming to pull off a scam and potentially blackmail me. Stay vigilant, everyone!

Received a dodgy call regarding compromised internet security. We've since blocked the number.

They keep ringing me but I don’t pick up. Seems dodgy since the number’s got some weird international code, definitely not from the UK.
