Looks like a total scam, wouldn’t bother picking up.

Had calls a couple of times over the last few days from someone saying they were with a medical alarm service. When I said I wasn’t interested, they just hung up straight away.

As soon as my answer machine kicked in, they just cut the call. Looks like a scam to me, so I’ve blocked the number now.

I received a call from someone who had an Asian accent, insisting they were reaching out to renew my washing machine’s warranty, which supposedly had expired. Given the age of my machine, I highly doubted that claim! I politely declined and simply ended the conversation.

Got a call from some dodgy insurance place trying to sell me extra warranty for my washing machine. I told them I don’t have any such cover already, so there’s nothing to extend. Pretty sure it was a scam.

I received a call this morning just after eight from a woman with an Asian accent who was keen to inform me about some round-the-clock service. Despite my clear disinterest in sales calls, she carried on, insisting that she wasn't trying to sell anything. Frustrated, I expressed my annoyance at the early hour, told her to 'do one', and ended the call. Feels rather dodgy if you ask me.

Got a call from a lady who sounded Indian, she asked me to verify my name before telling me she was phoning about some insurance for appliances, saying the coverage had run out. I ended the call pretty quickly after that.

Got a call from some place claiming they fix washing machines. Felt really sketchy, like one of those dodgy call centres from India. Pretty sure it’s just another scam going around.

Got a call about renewing my TV insurance, but I don’t even have any! So I just told them they were being dodgy and hung up straight away. Then they kept calling back non-stop, like 15 times in a row, without saying a word when I answered. It felt a bit scary and really annoying. They’ve tried again since, but now I’ve blocked the number - don’t know if it’ll work though, cos I reckon they just use different numbers. Proper nasty stuff!

Got a call from a lady with a Chinese accent about some washing machine insurance running out, but we don’t even own a washing machine! I let my 3 year old granddaughter answer and say hi to her, and she just ended the call straight away. Not exactly great customer service, if you ask me!

No response when I answered. Pretty sure it was one of those silent calls.

Didn't answer the phone since I didn't recognise the number, probably a good call after reading the other reviews here.

Looks like the Errors and Warnings computer con has died down, and now these scammers have switched gears to pushing washing machine insurance scams instead.

I got a dodgy call about renewing my washing machine’s insurance, which funny enough, does need sorting soon. They even knew where I live and the brand of my machine. I kept quiet till the woman asked if I handled the house bills and tried to pass me to someone else. I told her to just send me the info properly if it was legit, and then she just hung up on me. It’s a bit worrying how much they already knew about me.

Got a call from someone claiming my washing machine warranty had expired recently. Thing is, it’s been out of warranty for near on a decade! I asked for the model number and he gave me the wrong one straight away. Told him to jog on, called him a scammer and said if he really wanted the cash, he could come and get it off me face to face (with a fair bit of swearing thrown in). These muppets target folks who are easy to fool, and honestly, they deserve a proper slap.

Some guy from abroad called me up trying to push a warranty for my washer. I told him my machine’s pretty ancient, so no need for that. He kept babbling like he knew everything about me and the washer, but couldn’t even get my info right. I told him I’m not into dodgy scams or cold calls. Then he called me rude, so I told him to never ring me again and just hung up.

Received a call this morning around half past eight, but I decided to let it ring out. After checking online, it appears to be a dodgy number. I've got a fridge freezer repair scheduled, but that's not happening for a couple of days yet. Normally, they would send me a text if there were any adjustments to the appointment. The 0288 code is unfamiliar to me, and it doesn't seem to match up with Domestic & General.

Got a call from an Asian lady, her voice was super flat and quiet. She dived right into some spiel about renewing my washing machine insurance - which I don’t even have! Scariest part was she knew my full name and address and rattled it off like she’d got it all down. When I told her that was wrong she just cut me off straight away and hung up. Weird and pretty suspicious.

Got a call from someone pretending they were renewing my washing machine insurance. I told them to quit the dodgy act and find a real job instead. Didn’t take long before they just hung up on me!

Got a call from a woman who sounded like she was from South East Asia, trying to get me to buy insurance for my washing machine. She claimed she worked for some company called "Home Appliances" and said they were located in Scotland. Problem is, the number she called from was actually an Omagh area code in Northern Ireland. I asked which town in Scotland she was calling from, and suddenly she went silent before just hanging up on me. Honestly, that was pretty cheeky!

I got a phone call from a woman saying she was renewing the insurance on my washing machine. Thing is, I don’t have any insurance for it in the first place. When I asked how much it would be, she said £6.95 a month. I told her I had no interest since there’s no existing policy to extend, plus she had no info about my washing machine. I mentioned I suspected it was a scam, she tried to argue but then dropped it and just hung up.

Thought it might be some kind of dodgy call so just let it go to voicemail. No surprise, no message waiting. Looked it up here and turns out it's just scammers as I suspected.

Got a call really early this morning, just let the voicemail do its thing. The caller hung up straight away, which made me think it was probably a scam. Happens all the time, feels like my answerphone is like a guard dog keeping the dodgy calls at bay. After seeing what others have said, I reckon I was spot on with that.

Got a call through wifi, rang out and went straight to voicemail, which turned out to be some call centre. Nobody actually said a word, seemed like a total scam. Dunno if it was about health insurance, appliance cover, or internet stuff, but definitely felt dodgy.

I got a call from a cheerful young lady asking if I wanted to renew my washing machine insurance. She couldn’t even name the brand of my washer, only mentioned my postcode like that actually meant anything. When I said I wasn’t interested because of the cost, she just wished me a nice day and hung up. I reckon she might have believed she was with a legit insurance firm. If I’d shown any interest, I’m sure she’d have handed me to a sales closer who’d squeeze every penny out of me.

I received a call from someone claiming they were extending the warranty on my washing machine, but oddly, they mentioned two models that aren’t even mine! They were quite insistent throughout the conversation, which raised all sorts of red flags for me. Definitely sounds like a scam!

The number looked unfamiliar so I chose not to pick up. If it’s important, anyone trying to reach me will find another way. I’ve decided not to bother answering these random calls anymore.
