If you get a call from 02879076656, dont let anyone access your computer no matter what. I’d advise you to tell your phone company or BT about it and ask if they can block this number from calling your landline. Better safe than sorry!

I got a call out of the blue saying there was an alert from my computer about Microsoft. When I asked who they were, the person said they worked for some company called Tech World based in Reading and were pushing Norton antivirus. I don’t believe for a second Norton would approve of this kind of trickery. Definitely wouldn’t trust them at all.

I answered the call but didn’t say anything because no one spoke after a few seconds, so I just ended the call. Reading the comments here, I’m actually relieved I didn’t keep it going.

Got a call from someone named Ron Smith, sounded like they had an Asian accent, talking about computer security stuff. Honestly, the first thoughts were “don’t get involved” and “stay well away.” Seems dodgy to me.

This is really risky stuff! I’ve been aware of this con for quite some time. Today, I got a phone call from someone calling himself ‘Alan’ claiming to be from Microsoft, saying my computer had been compromised. I played along and asked him, “Before I turn on my laptop like you suggested, can I ask you something, Alan? Do you have kids?” He looked a bit thrown off but said yes. Then I hit him with, “So Alan, are you bringing up your kids to be crooks just like you?” He ended the call immediately without a word!

Someone called pretending to be from Microsoft and try to get control of my computer to scam money out of me. I didn't follow any of their instructions, but I did look up all the stuff they suggested online to check if it was legit. Stay clear and don’t do what they say!
