Utterly revolting! I received a call from someone claiming to be from Sky's global services. When I requested to be removed from their list, he had the audacity to tell me to shove off and threatened to call me every hour, every single day. The number was 02871285448.

I received a call today, presumably the first from this number, and was met with utter silence on the line. I hung on for about 20 to 30 seconds before the call dropped. After looking up the number here, I decided to block it using a nifty device that requires caller ID to filter out nuisance calls. This has drastically reduced the irritation, allowing me to stave off what could have been a barrage of calls stretching on for days, weeks, or even months!

Just got a call from this number but no one replied when I answered. After looking it up, found plenty of sketchy reports about it. Like another person mentioned, I can manage fine if someone actually talks to me, but now I generally don’t say a word if I don’t know who’s calling. Luckily I’ve got a clever device that blocks calls from numbers I don’t want and also stops calls from outside my area. It’s cut down annoying calls massively, over 90%, since these numbers can only get through once, and outside area calls don’t ever come through at all.

Got a call earlier from a bloke with an Asian accent who said his name was Mike. Not convinced about that! He knew my first name and even my full address, asked if I owned the place. Got a call from a bloke with what I’d say was an Indian accent, just kept going on with "Do you know," plus he had my name right. Could hear other voices, like call centre stuff going on behind him. The phone rang and as soon as I answered with hello, the caller just hung up. Heads up: don’t say YES under any circumstances. Some dodgy callers are recording you agreeing by saying yes and then hit you with a huge charge for a service you never actually signed up for. That’s the trick they’re using, getting you to say yes over the phone so they can claim you gave consent. Then your phone provider charges you and they make a profit from it. Proper scam.

Sometimes the caller says they're from BT wanting to sort out poor broadband but insists you switch your computer on first! They even know a name (wrong one for us) and address details. Feels like they're trying to gather personal info. Honestly, I don't expect BT to ever offer a free way to stop these scammers from pestering us anymore.

This number gives us a ring once or a couple of times daily. The line remains hushed for roughly twenty seconds before a robotic voice chimes in with a "Goodbye." It's unresponsive to any incoming calls, and we've got BT Guardian set up preventing such calls. This has been dragging on for more than a year now, and blocking it isn’t an option since it's not a UK number.
