Received a call from someone claiming to offer a complimentary falls alarm monitor. It took me a fair bit of time to extract the name of the company-he fumbled through it, finally coming up with something like SOS Alarms, stating they were located in Dorset yet serving the entire country. When I pressed him on how he acquired my number, he gave a rather fuzzy response about “individuals with health concerns.” As he continued his rather insistent pitch about the need for protection should I find myself in a tumble, insisting I required a free pendant aimed at the elderly, I decided to cut the conversation short once I mentioned that I wasn’t actually a senior citizen.

This number is ex-directory and isn’t widely shared. It’s also registered with the Telephone Preference Service, so cold calls like this shouldn’t be happening.

Got a call from a number I didnt recognise, most likely one of them #### scammers using an auto dialler. Luckily my phones block those auto dialler calls. If they followed TPS rules, they wouldn't be bothering me at a TPS registered number in the first place.

I let the phone ring out and when the voicemail picked up, this guy who called himself Sam from Windows and Doors Ltd, I guess, started talking like there was a person on the other end. He introduced himself and began asking if I owned my house or something. But as soon as he figured out it was just my answering machine, he quickly ended the call.
