Got a call from what looked like a local number, so I picked up. They started asking for a big payment which felt like a total scam straight away. I didn’t want to waste time so I cut the call and put the number on my block list. Wouldn’t recommend answering these sorts of calls at all.

They kept ringing a few times but I never pick up for numbers I don’t know. If it was legit, they’d leave a voicemail on my answerphone. These calls are just scams trying to trick anyone who actually answers. Don’t get caught out - if it’s serious, they’ll leave a message anyway.

So, this bloke rang me while I was in Romania, using a UK number, trying to pitch some "better deal" for my guest house compared to Booking.com. I'm pretty sure he found my number there since I only list it for business. Then the very next day, same guy calls again but with a blocked number, claiming his Indian company could send European tourists my way for just 344 euros a year! I told him straight up it sounded dodgy and he immediately ended the call. They’ve got a fake website set up to make themselves look legit. Watch out and don’t get caught out!

I didn’t pick up since the number wasn’t saved in my phone. They didn’t bother leaving any voicemail, so I’m guessing it was just a spam or cold call. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number now.
