I used to blow a whistle along the phone line, and the calls would stop for a moment. However, they have now returned and I can't even get the name correctly.

It rings every day, like clockwork. There's an Indian bloke on the line claiming to be from Benefits UK. He sounds really unprofessional and not like a proper caller at all. Honestly, I have no clue how they expect to get any customers if they bug people like this.

Got annoying calls from someone claiming to be benefits UK, told them to quit calling, but they just keep ringing, already called me 5 times today.

Got yet another silent call from a dodgy number that looked spoofed, just adds to the loads of them I’ve had this year. Since it wasn’t a West of Scotland code, I’m guessing it was probably some scammers from India trying a different scam instead of the usual 'energy saver' stuff.

Benefits UK This number has been ringing me non-stop for months now, sometimes even twice a day. I've told them to stop calling, but they’re quite rude and just ignore me. They rang twice today again; when I asked for a manager, they just hung up on me. I'm seriously fed up with this endless pestering.

On the 11th of April at 11:32, we observed that all incoming calls were undergoing a screening process. However, upon returning a call, we encountered an inactive telephone number and were unable to establish a connection. This situation appears to be extremely suspicious.

I got a call from a bloke with an Asian accent claiming to be from Benefits. When I asked why he was ringing, he got really rude. Then when I asked how he managed to get my number, he just hung up on me.

Got a call from a bloke with a pretty thick Asian accent, said he was Nigel from BenefitsUK. When I asked for his proper name, he got a bit annoyed and then said it was Ali. Asked again about where he was really calling from, he just repeated himself and told me to hold on, then just cut me off.

Got a call from BT saying my internet’s not working properly. This is the second time today, but the number was different this time 003156231458.

Some woman from New Benefits gave me a ring, sayin she needed me to answer some easy questions. But when I asked her about her company, she was pretty cagey and didn’t want to say much. When she saw I wasn’t keen to play along, she just hung up.

I received calls at approximately 9:15 today and around the same time yesterday. It has become quite bothersome and annoying.

Some bloke tried quizzing me about household stuff but I just told him I don't do any surveys and ended the call. After reading all the comments here, why can't these calls be stopped by the authorities? Surely someone monitors this site and can take action. When I asked where he got my number, he said from some public database - didn’t even know that existed.

Earlier this afternoon, I received a phone call from 0286 859 378. The person on the other end was speaking in a foreign language and asked to speak to my late mother, who passed away three years ago. It's quite puzzling because all of her bank accounts and business affairs were closed after we provided her death certificates. I fail to understand why they are calling in the first place, especially since they cannot disclose the purpose of their call without my mother's consent. In my attempt to return the call, I was greeted with silence and a dead tone. This is not the first time I have encountered such calls. In fact, I have received similar requests to speak with my mother from numbers like 0188 084 0205 and 0207 017 6697. However, when I try to reach out to these numbers, I am only met with the same dead tone as before. Since they keep calling from different numbers each time, I am uncertain how to put an end to these calls. Is there anyone who might know of a way to stop them?

0286859378 called again today, we didn’t pick up. looked it up and it’s a spam number. blocked it using the CPR call blocker. honestly, best device we’ve ever got for dealing with these annoying calls.

Got a call from an Asian man who seemed to know my name, claiming he was from "Benefits". I told him no one in my family gets benefits and asked what he wanted. He just ended the call straight away.

The Indian woman had difficulties speaking understandable English. Despite being on TPS, it didn't appear to have any impact.

This benefit organisation has phoned me four times just today, all since 2pm, and quite a few times in the past few days as well. Feels like harassment to me. I politely told them the first time that I wasn’t interested, but they just won’t stop ringing. I’ve now blocked the number and would recommend you do too.

Upon further investigation, it seems this number is traced back to Bangor in Northern Ireland.

Got a call from this number earlier today but they just hung up right after I grumbled my number in a really fed-up tone. It’s a Bank Holiday, for goodness sake! Normally I might mess about with the caller and waste their time, but on a Bank Holiday I’m straight up like, “Who even calls on a Bank Holiday?” and then drop the phone.

Got a call but it was dead silent when I answered, then they just cut off. Seriously, who calls on a bank holiday Monday at 2.55 pm? Probably some sort of scam!

Every single day I get calls from these jokers, thank goodness I use a BT call guardian phone which makes anyone unknown say who they are before the call even goes through. Honestly, these phones are brilliant and I’m not even paid by BT or owt.

I keep receiving continuous calls from 0286859378 claiming to be from the benefits agency. Despite my efforts to end the conversation, they still persistently call me. I am unsure of what actions to take. I have already registered my number with the telephone preference service.

He asked straight for me by name, checked my address, asked how old I was roughly, what brand of washing machine I own, and if I own the house. That’s when I said I’m not going to answer any more questions. Pretty polite bloke with an accent, sounded foreign. Said his name was Alec or something like that from an organisation like Beneficial UK or Benefits UK. Thought he said he wouldn’t call back again. Guess we’ll find out.

Despite my requests, they refuse to remove me from their list or disclose how they obtained my information. When I requested to speak to the manager, I was informed that he was unavailable. The person on the phone then stated that in order to be taken off the list, I had to say "I love you" to them. I was taken aback by this unexpected demand and asked for clarification. They simply repeated their request and abruptly ended the call. The individual who delivered this unfortunate message identified themselves as 'Jordan'. I am desperate to figure out a way to block these calls and put an end to their daily nuisance.

Just ignore and block this number if you can. It keeps calling non stop. I just hang up straight away every time.

Spotted a missed call from 0286859378 and looked it up to find out who it was. I'd suggest trying BT Call Guardian if you're fed up with these annoying calls. It really helps to take charge of things. Just so you know, I'm not linked to BT or anything like that.

028 685 9378 Seems like a number from just outside London but it’s not. Definitely some Asian telemarketers - idiots rang on Good Friday! Is there no break from these annoying call centres? Tried calling back to get a name to report them but couldn’t get through. My advice: don’t engage, just say hang on while you get your dad then hang up until they stop calling. Don’t bother with them, report and block. I use Showcaller, a clever app that can record calls and let you block and report numbers. I also add them to my phone’s auto-reject list just to be safe.

i used an insurance quote site not long ago and ever since ive been getting nonstop calls. Luckily i have cpr so i could block them straight away. (also, weirdly there was this long silence then a voice with an asian accent asking for me by name.)

The caller, an Asian woman, had a very strong accent that made it difficult for me to comprehend what she was saying. Furthermore, the reception on the phone wasn't great, so I decided to end the call and hang up.

After just two rings, the call abruptly ended. Despite being within arm's reach of the telephone, I was too late both in setting down my cup and grabbing the receiver. They had vanished without a trace.

just like others mentioned - he knew my name and said he was calling about some benefits and needed to ask a few questions. i told him it was an unwanted call and against the rules but he kept talking even after i hung up.

I said hi, but they didn’t reply, so I just said bye and ended the call.

Whenever I mention the person they inquire about, they abruptly end the call without any regard. This has occurred twice today alone, and it is quite disconcerting.

some bloke called david, asked for me by my first name but got my last name all wrong. said he was with benefits uk and had some questions for me. i told him i don’t do phone questions, but he kept pushing me to talk so i just ended the call.
