Hey folks, just wanted to share that I got a ring from 0286515157 today, some bloke named Kurt Smith looking for my stepdad. He refused to say who he was calling from, just claimed it was something personal. When I asked about the company he worked for, he said he couldn’t tell me or it would reveal too much. He called our landline which has nothing to do with the address he mentioned, plus I lived at that place over a decade ago and have moved loads since then. Really fishy behaviour if you ask me.

Someone’s been ringing my family and work trying to track down an ex of mine. I’ve asked them to quit, but they keep pestering everyone. Is there any way I can report this to the cops?

I’ve been dealing with this too, and what helped me was asking them directly to stop calling me - after that they actually couldn’t ring back. You can also try asking them not to bother anyone else you know, but unfortunately the law lets them keep calling until each person tells them to stop. I reckon getting your ex to handle it might be the way forward, cos the cops won’t really step in; they’d probably just remind him to lay off anyway.

So I've recently discovered this guy who's apparently an expert in tracking people overseas and recovering stuff. Honestly, I’m not sure how he does it, but he digs through friends, neighbours, former jobs, and even mates of mates just to reach you. He’s relentless. I dodged his messages for ages, but then he somehow tracked me down at my new job in Hong Kong. I’d only been there a short while after living in Europe for three months. My advice? Deal with it early before the cost piles up.

Just saw I missed a call from this number. When I listened to the voicemail, the bloke actually knew my full name! I’ve never handed my phone number out to anyone, so where did he find it? He said his name was Ed Tupolski too. Could that be a fake name?

That bloke’s calling me and some of my mates from work on 0424 750 636, trying to find someone in his family. I’m going to tell the police about it and get a “cease and desist” order sorted too. Same number as before, just fyi.

Had this bloke Kurt from Sydney hounding me, says he’s a debt collector. He’s been stalking everyone’s Facebook profiles and phoning folks trying to track down some person. You can tell him off and get him to stop calling your number, or you can complain directly to the company he works for. He rings up pretending he’s a mate. I’m planning to report him to the cops if he rings again.

I’ve had calls both on my mobile and landline from these people, and honestly, it’s not some dodgy scam. After reading all the comments here, I decided to ring them back and have a proper chat. Turns out, they’re debt collectors. When I asked why they’d been ringing my friends and family, they said it was because they didn’t have up-to-date contact info for me. I told them they had my mobile number, but apparently, they hadn’t heard back from me. They said they needed to sort things quickly to stop my credit score from taking a hit. So, maybe folks here are just being overdramatic or trying to dodge their debts. Just face it and deal with your problems.

There’s been this bloke, Kurt and another called Rob, calling from a mobile and also this landline, ringing loads of people in my family about someone who’s got no connection to us. They even went as far as ringing my daughter in law’s boss, which caused a right mess because the boss wasn’t happy about the call at all. This sort of thing really shouldn’t happen, it’s just not on.

Today, my husband got a ring from this number on his mobile. The bloke on the line actually knew both our first names, which was a bit creepy. He claimed he was after a relative of ours, even mentioned the full name, said it was something personal but wouldn’t share any other info like what it was about. The weird part was he also had our home address and the name of my husband’s workplace. Apparently, he tracked down our contact via business records. We’ve handed everything over to the police now.

For the last few weeks, this bloke "Kurt" has been calling my phone twice every day, and it’s driving me mad. Whenever I answer, he’s always asking for some person - I never quite catch the name - and I just say "wrong number" straight away. He then tries to keep me on the line by saying his name's Kurt and firing off loads of questions. It’s made me suspicious since he never says where he’s calling from or why he wants to reach this person. My guess is he could be some kind of debt collector. Honestly, there’s no point in getting drawn into a chat with him. Best thing to do is just hang up!

Today, I got a call from this number and the bloke claimed his name was Kirk Smith, saying he was after someone with the same name as my dad. The date of birth he gave was all wrong, which freaked me out - how did he even get my details? It really upset me because it made me think of my dad’s death, and I ended up crying later on. Got a call from a really good looking guy but when I asked where he was calling from he wouldn’t say a word, like he was hiding something or some sort of secret agent! Makes me wonder if he’s single though.
