Hello everyone, today I received a call from a certain individual by the name of Kurt Smith using the phone number 0286515157. He was specifically looking for my stepfather and insisted that it was a personal matter, refusing to reveal which company he represented. When I inquired about the company, he hinted that disclosing it would give away too much and declined to provide any further details. It is worth noting that he called my home phone, which has no connection whatsoever to the previous property mentioned during the conversation. Furthermore, there is no possible way for him to have obtained my number from that property, as I resided there approximately 14 years ago and have subsequently lived in a dozen different places. I must say, his conduct seems very suspicious.

I've encountered the same issue before. If you ask them politely, they won't call you directly anymore. Similarly, you can request them not to contact anyone else you may know, although legally they have the right to until each person expressly asks not to be contacted. Perhaps you could have your ex-partner contact them and resolve the matter. The police won't be able to do much in this situation; they would simply reach out to your ex and convey the same message.
