Somebody rang me saying they were from Amazon’s fraud team, saying there was suspicious activity on my card from last night, saying I’d bought a £600 phone. I told them I hadn’t. They asked me to check my emails but I said I couldn’t right now, and they urged me to do it straight away. Then they just hung up. I actually did buy something the night before but it definitely wasn’t a phone and was much cheaper. Bit worrying they might’ve spotted that and made up the whole scam alert from it.

I got a call from someone claiming they were from Microsoft, saying there was a problem with my Windows computer. It sounded fishy straight away. They wanted me to give them remote access, but I just hung up. Wish people wouldn’t do this kind of scam stuff.

Got a call from an Asian bloke claiming there was something wrong with my Amazon account. When I told him it was a load of rubbish and a scam, he flipped out and started hurling disgusting insults at me. He called me some terrible names I won’t even mention here, proper offensive stuff.

Got a call through on a super scratchy line and honestly, I straggled to make out what the guy was saying - sounded like one of those Indian scammers. Told him straight up that I don’t have anything to do with Amazon, so his story was rubbish. Bet he wasn’t expecting that!

Got a call where the person spoke with a foreign accent. They claimed there was a purchase of a smartphone on my Amazon account, just like many other stories I’ve seen. I called them out saying it was definitely a scam, and they hung up straightaway. I’ve blocked the number now.

A lady informed me that there had been an attempt to buy a mobile phone using my account. She mentioned that I supposedly received an email about it, but of course, I hadn’t seen a thing. Then, she directed me to the event log, seemingly to highlight some sort of "mistake". At that point, I decided to end the call.
