Got a call from this number earlier today at about 10:30am UK time. It left a voicemail where all they said was "hello." From what I’ve found online, it seems to be linked to some kind of medical scam. The weird thing is, this site says the number is inactive, but it definitely rang through.

Got a call from 02843780231 on 18th June 2024 about 4.33pm, but the second my answering machine started they hung up straight away. Feels like some kind of scam or just plain harassment? Not sure what their game is.

Got a call from someone saying they knew my health background and was pushing an emergency alarm pendant that apparently costs money. Every time I tried to speak or ask something, they just talked over me - really weird. In the end, I just ended the call. I've registered with TPS, so how on earth do these jokers still get hold of my number? Clearly just a scam to trick vulnerable folks into handing over money. When will the authorities finally step in and stop these scammers from taking advantage and profiting from this rubbish?

Got a call from this number around 2.44pm today. A guy named Simon said he was our neighbourhood health advisor. He mentioned he knew about my wife's health issues and offered a pendant for free, but said there would be a weekly fee of £1.92 for the service. This was actually the second time he’s rung us today; the first was earlier at about 9.50am, but that time he called from 01313670787.

About quarter of an hour ago, I got a call from a bloke named Sam. He claimed their files show I have some health issue, so suggested a pendant alarm could help me. He kept going on and on about the costs and wouldn’t really take a hint to stop. Quite pushy, really.

I got a ring from 02843780231 earlier today, not sure if it was from a mobile or a landline. When I picked up, all I could hear was some rustling like paper. The person then asked if I could hear them properly. I asked who was calling, and all I got was an “oh, alright” before the call just ended. Quite strange if you ask me!!!

The guy sounded quite young, polite and spoke properly, but it was clear he had no clue what he was on about. He mentioned having some list with about 60 to 80 people supposedly needing a personal alarm. Refused to tell me who he was working for or where they got my details from. Wouldn't let me get a word in! I had to raise my voice and tell him to shut up and listen but he just kept repeating the same thing from his script. In the end, I ended the call!

My elderly mum, who’s well into her 80s, got a call about some emergency alarm system that costs more than a quid a day. But when I answered for her, the bloke switched up his manner right away. I kept pressing him with loads of questions, and in the end, he just went and hung up on me!

My landline got a ring from 02843780231. Usually, my mobile gets all the scam calls, so it was odd to get one at home. A bloke started talking, but he was mumbled and pretty hard to understand. Just as I was about to answer properly, he cut off the call!

Got a call about a free emergency medical pendant, but it was totally fishy. The voice didn't sound human at all, and every time I asked something, it just repeated the same info over and over, never really answering. Feels like a scam to me. Best to just end the call straight away if you get one of these.

This number rang me up earlier today. They started asking how I was feeling, but I didn’t answer any of that. After that, they attempted to pitch some sort of care alert button. Being 82 and quite vulnerable, it seemed like it could’ve been a legit call. I decided to hang up before I shared any personal info.

I wasn’t prepared to say ‘yes’ straight away today, and they clearly weren’t expecting that sort of response. All I got was the same line over and over, “Hi, I’m Sam, your local health advisor.” If you give a reply they don’t expect, you’ll quickly realise they’re not genuine. It’s so obviously a scam aimed at exploiting older folks.

They kept insisting that I needed some sort of care service and wanted me to get a call assist pendant. After a while, I just ended the call.

Got a call earlier from a bloke with a British accent claiming he was some sort of health advisor for my region. He started rattling on about how I had loads of health problems (which I don’t) and that I use a personal alarm (which I defo don’t). The weirdest part is he knew all this incorrect stuff but never actually said my name once. When I told him he’d got the wrong number, he just hung up on me. Proper scammers, beware!

Got a call from someone who said his name was Sam, said he got my number because supposedly I’m “over 70” and have “a medical condition.” He said he was ringing from some company in Dorset, called the SOS Button Centre, trying to sell me an emergency pendant thing. When I asked where they got my details from, he wouldn’t say, just kept going on about being Trading Standards approved - which is total rubbish. Was really rude and super pushy. I received a rather persistent phone call from this chap claiming to be a health consultant named Adam, who had a rather posh English accent. He insisted he was working "in my area" and mentioned that due to my supposed health issues, I was eligible for a medic alert system. I attempted to politely convey my disinterest, but he wouldn’t take a hint and kept blathering on. It felt like he was just reciting lines from a script, completely oblivious to my attempts to end the conversation. In the end, I just decided to hang up on him. Quite a motormouth, that one!

Some bloke with a posh English accent, calling himself Adam, rang me up asking for me like he knew me and claimed he was a "health consultant nearby". He said that since I had some health problems, I qualified for a free medical alert device (which they definitely don't give out free). They claimed to be from UK Now and insisted it wasn’t a sales pitch. This was the second day in a row they called, but yesterday they said the call came from Glasgow, not Northern Ireland. When I asked to be removed from their list, he said they hadn’t called before. The guy had a really thick Indian accent and said his name was Oisin - which seems a bit dodgy if you ask me. I told him to buzz off and he cheekily replied with “you too.” 😬
