Frank - Absolutely a scam, don’t waste your time calling back... I got a voicemail on Thursday 25/8/2016 and wrote it down exactly: The voice sounded Indian and said: “Hello, this is Jason O’Conner from the Australian Taxation Office. We need to inform you that a lawsuit has been filed against you regarding tax evasion. The case is now heading to the Commonwealth courthouse in your area. Before things get worse or the local police come to your home with an arrest warrant, please call us back at 0284173033. I’m repeating the number: 0284173033.” Then on Friday 26/8/2016, I got another message, this time a South African accent: “This is about a lawsuit for tax fraud and evasion. To avoid legal problems and get details, call us back soon at 0283107631. Again, that number is 0283107631.” Beware, this is nothing but a dodgy scam. Don’t fall for it!
