Got a call on 15th Oct 2024, as soon as I answered with a simple hello I heard a few clicks then they just hung up. Tried blocking it then but my BT block list was already packed, and clearing old numbers is such a pain. Managed to block it now though. Judging by what others have said, it clearly seems like one of those typical "local advisor" or "loft insulation" scams, so I’m staying cautious. About five days back, someone shared a detailed guide in this thread about how to report scam calls to the proper authorities like OfCom and the police. But now it’s nearly a page and a half further down and seems to have been completely ignored. If anyone had reported this number properly by now, it’d probably be investigated and removed. But most folks just don’t bother, and that’s why these scammers keep getting away with it. A handful might complain here, some vulnerable people get tricked, but the majority just brush it off. The scammers thrive on that apathy!
