I got a call from a lady saying she was Martina from Microsoft Reading. It was super early, like 6:45 in the morning! She kept telling me I had a computer, which isn’t true, and then went on about me having a laptop. Honestly, I’m more into my trusty old typewriter. These folks always seem desperate to get some personal details. Eventually, she gave up, and I could finally get some shut-eye again.

Got a call today around 4:10 pm, second time in a short while. First time, it was a woman with an Asian accent. This time, a guy with a US accent rang and said he was from Microsoft, claiming my laptop was sharing files or something. When I questioned him, he rudely said I must not be able to understand English! I just put the phone down.

Got a call from an Asian lady who claimed my computer had issues and asked me to turn it on so she could fix it before it stopped working. I told her I actually have a computing degree and probably understand this stuff way better than she could ever imagine. She kept repeating, "This isn’t a scam, this isn’t a scam," but I just cut her off and ended the call. Tried to check the number with 1471, but it wasn’t recognised. This was on 9th December 2017.

Got a call off this number around 9am from a lady with an Asian accent. She claimed there was an issue with my computer and asked me to turn it on. She warned that if I didn’t, I might lose access to it. I told her I actually have a computing degree and know way more about this stuff than she probably does. Then she insisted it wasn’t a scam, but I just ended the call there and then.

Got a call this morning at 8:02 from a woman claiming to be from Microsoft in Reading. I told her I wasn’t buying it and just hung up. This same number has rung me before, and usually I just ignore it. But today, with a couple of possible hospital emergencies on my mind, I answered without checking who it was. I reported the number to my landline provider, EE, but they said there’s nothing they can do. Honestly, it’s getting really annoying.

Around half past three this afternoon, this man with an Asian accent called up my husband saying there was some issue with his computer - which is strange because he hasn't got one! Honestly, the only thing that’s really a problem is my husband’s obsession with watching old steam trains on mine all day long!

Got a call from some Indian call centre claiming to be from Windows, telling me my PC had a virus. It was about 7 in the morning, I was trying to catch some z’s! I told them no way I’d pay for a fix or let them access my machine remotely. Then they started calling me a stupid mother chotta or something like that - I think it’s like a swear word. After that, they just hung up on me.

I got two calls this morning claiming to be from Microsoft, saying there was an issue with my PC. I told them it wasn’t a good time to check my computer and asked for a callback number. After a bit of pressing, they gave me 0131 618 3119, which I saw listed on this site too. I’m pretty sure they were trying to get remote access to scam or pressure me. When I questioned the caller, who said his name was "Robin Smith," he swore and hung up on me. I've since reported the number on the Action Fraud website - www.actionfraud.police.uk.

This number has rung me twice within the span of a day. Both times, when I picked up, there was nothing but silence. I completely overlooked adding it to my call blocker on CPR since I was upstairs when it rang. They tried again at 7:10 this morning, which understandably triggered a bit of panic as I wondered if something serious was happening with a relative. However, after seeing other people's experiences, I've now gone ahead and blocked them.

I had the bloke on the phone for like 35 minutes, just messing about, before I got fed up and told him something like "Command not found on Ubuntu." He started swearing at me, saying I’d been wasting his time. I told him he was just trying to scam me out of my cash. Then he threatened to come round and do who knows what, so I warned him there’s a sword hanging over my bed that saw plenty of action in India, and I reckon it’s still good as new. He hung up sharpish after that - clearly not a fan of me now!

I got a call earlier today from someone pretending to be Jack Sparrow, saying they were from Microsoft. They told me hackers were breaking into my computer illegally. They knew my name and wanted me to log on so they could “show” me the problem. When I hesitated, they threatened that my computer would be locked down forever and I’d never get online again. They even claimed the hackers had ties to d###s or something like that. When I asked for a return number, they gave me 01316183119, which I’ve just seen listed here too.

This number rang me a couple times in about 30 minutes. They claimed my computer had some issue and if I turned it on, they’d fix it remotely. The second call, I told them I wasn’t falling for that and when I wouldn’t believe their nonsense, the person got really angry, shouted they’d destroy my PC, then hung up. I’m really unsettled and just sitting here now.

Beware of these fraudulent calls! They phone you up claiming to be from Microsoft, insisting that there’s something amiss with your computer. Their aim is to persuade you to grant them remote access so they can ‘demonstrate’ the issues. I've encountered them twice, each time with a different spiel. Once they claimed my computer had been blocked, which was absolute nonsense. The next time, they insisted my machine was firing off error messages to Microsoft, which simply wasn’t true either. Their tactic is to gain remote access, install some dodgy software that simulates problems, and then inform you that the only solution lies with them-at a hefty price tag of anywhere between £50 and £200! If this number calls again, just hang up immediately; it’s a complete scam! Oh, and they appear to be based in India, just for your information.

Lately, I've received around 20 calls from people with Asian accents, both men and women, all saying they're from Microsoft. Every time, I tell them I don’t even have a computer, let them talk for a bit, then hang up - sometimes even giving them a whistle down the line for a laugh. Still, they don’t stop calling. They insisted it wasn’t a scam and claimed my computer would stop working soon. Funny thing is, that was four days ago and my computer’s still working perfectly.

Got a call around 12:30pm on 06/12/17 from an Asian man who oddly already knew my name. Claimed he worked for Microsoft's tech support. I told him he was about as much a Microsoft worker as I am, then cheekily suggested he should just go away. Shortly after, he hung up on me.

Yet again, I got a call from someone with an Asian accent, this time going by the name Jim (never heard that one before). He claimed to be with an internet security firm and said they were offering a free service to fix my computer because apparently it was being used to spread viruses. He asked me to switch on the PC and tell him when it was up and running. Then he gave me a set of keys to press and wanted me to tell him what popped up on the screen.

Some guy with an Asian accent called, said his name was Philip and claimed he worked at Microsoft. He started asking if I was the primary user of my PC, so I asked why he needed to know. That’s when he suddenly launched into insults, calling me all sorts of names. The whole scam story was about my Microsoft license supposedly expiring and making my computer crash, and if I let him access it, he could supposedly "fix" it for a charge. Proper nonsense!

Got a call from a bloke named "Lucas," sounded Asian and first said he was from 'Windows.' When I pressed him a bit, he suddenly changed story and said he worked for Microsoft over in Reading. He didn’t take kindly to me asking too many questions. I warned him if it was some scam, I’d be forced to do some unpleasant things to him. That made him proper angry, going on about cutting my internet off! Absolute muppets. Honestly, they deserve to be thrown in the sea!

Phone rang at about 9:25am today. The number started with 02840, so I instantly guessed it was another rude scammer on the line. If you’ve got caller ID and an answerphone, just don’t pick up and let it go straight to voicemail, simple as that. No point getting into a spat with these annoying pests - just waste their time by ignoring them and make their day a bit worse instead.
