had a call from an asian bloke pretending to be from local council housing about some compensation for repairs they said never got done. i told him i actually work in the council housing dept, tried to turn the tables on him. he just ended the call after that. watch out for this scam!

Then there was this awkward pause, the person tried to shout out to someone named Charlotte, and just like that, they hung up on me.

After quite a bit of frustration, I decided to ring them back and was met with nothing but ringing. A quick search revealed it's linked to a timber firm. Seems they've scooped up phone numbers from all over the UK in some sort of scheme to rope in customers. It feels rather dodgy, to be honest, and I don’t trust it one bit, so I've gone ahead and blocked the number.
