Got a call from 02838884095 on 16/02/23 but they didn’t leave any message. I just let it ring off, probably one of those scam calls.

Got a missed call from this number and when I rang back, some Asian lady answered but sounded totally lost. She had no idea what to say, like she wasn’t following any script. When I told her I was calling back, she just didn’t get it at all. Seems like a total scam and honestly run by pretty clueless folks!

She called about some medical alert thing you wear round your neck, claiming if there was an emergency, ambulance or police would rush over. I told her calling them myself would be just as fast. I said it sounded like a scam and she got all huffy, calling me horrible. Then I asked if she earned commission from sales. She snapped back saying I obviously didn’t want one, to which I replied no but I wasn’t bothered wasting her time since she rang me first. She left a couple of messages too. I told her she’d wasted my time and asked the price - £39.99. Then she just hung up on me.

They tried to sell me some sort of emergency button, but I politely declined, stating it wasn’t necessary for me. After that, they just hung up on me.

Got a call from a lady with an accent I didn’t quite catch. When I asked where she was calling from, it kinda sounded like she said "Mars". I asked again to be sure, and yep, she repeated Mars. After that I just said goodbye and hung up. She was trying to sell some emergency thing you wear around your neck or something.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent, asking about who lives at my place and other stuff. After a while, she asked for my date of birth. When I questioned why she needed that for sending some sort of Medical Medallion, she said she’d send a letter instead and then just hung up on me. Definitely a new scam!

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent claiming her name was Mary, saying she was calling on behalf of Health Care Services. She said my lifeline device needed replacing because it was outdated and wanted to charge me £49.99 for a new one. She asked for my DOB and if I had power of attorney or managed my own bank stuff. I called her out as a scammer, we went back and forth for a bit, then she randomly told me the devil’s my dad and hung up. Well, that was unexpected!

I got called by a really cheeky young woman who kept pushing me to hand the phone over to my husband. When I told her she was trying to sell some kind of gadgets we didn’t want, she actually went on to say I sounded like I knew it all already. Honestly, it felt like a new sneaky ploy from these scam callers, and it was way more annoying than the usual stuff.

I got a call from 02838884095, some bloke called Martin. He said they’re distributing these medical alert bracelets to folks in our area since COVID’s still about. He wanted me to verify my birthday, and I was just about to, but then I thought, hold on a sec, how do I know this is legit? So I told him I wouldn’t give it, and he just dropped the call. Had a call from a lady claiming she was trying to reach my elderly, disabled dad. When I asked her to identify herself, she just dropped the call. Really fishy behaviour if you ask me. Anyone genuine would surely say who they are, right? It’s awful that these types go after vulnerable folk like the old and disabled. No clue how they even got hold of his details, as we’re not listed in any directory. Makes me wonder how these scammers manage to find people’s info so easily.

I received a rather peculiar call regarding a personal alarm service that’s supposedly linked to phone calls and such. A lady on the other end seemed to have my information, but she was adamant that I provide my date of birth to confirm that I qualified for whatever it was they were offering.
