Got a call from 02837998365 claiming to be BT OpenReach, saying they wanted to check my internet speed. They then asked me to open TeamViewer so they could get into my computer. I told them I couldn’t do that because I manage IT for over 50 hospitals. The moment I mentioned that, they just ended the call straight away. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Got a call from a guy with a foreign accent but spoke quite clear English, said he was from BT Openreach checking on some connection problems and repairs near me. I played along and answered his questions about my internet speed and all that. Then I flipped it on him, told him I reckoned he was a scam and asked for his ‘job number’ since I’m actually awaiting an Openreach appointment. He couldn’t give me a proper answer and just ended the call.

When I asked him where he was calling from, he said BT's head office at 81 Newgate Street, London. I mentioned I thought that place was just for admin and didn’t have any call centres. Right after that, he just hung up on me. Watch out for these kinds of scams and don’t let anyone from unknown numbers into your system.

If you really wanna stop these robocall scams, all the dodgy calls and texts should be put straight on the police database. Just google 'action fraud', then hit the 'police.uk' page. Find the 'reporting' tab, from the dropdown choose the phishing scam report part, then scroll down beyond the scam emails to begin your report. It’s quick, simple, and you don’t even have to sign up. We all gotta be careful and report anything suspicious. These calls aren’t just annoying - they trick plenty of vulnerable people too. Stay alert, everyone!
