A woman phoned saying she was from Aviva Insurance, wanting to go over my policy to see if I could save some cash. I wasnt in at first so she called again later when I got home. I looked up the number and told her to call me on my landline coz my mobile signal was rubbish. Never heard from her again. The caller ID on my mobile showed the call was coming from Armagh, Northern Ireland.

Totally a scam, they were so polite saying it was my Aviva insurance doing a review. They knew my name and then gave me an address that wasn’t mine. I told them that’s wrong and they just hung up. Pretty clear they were trying to fish out personal info.

Got a call saying my washing machine warranty with Domestic & General had ended today and asked if I wanted to renew. They even knew my postcode. I told them I’d check my documents since I thought it ran out back in June 2021. Then suddenly the line went dead. When I rang D&G myself, they said they had nothing to do with that call and my warranty was still valid. Pretty obvious scam attempt.

Yesterday, my husband got a call from a lady who sounded African. Like the others, she asked if he wanted to buy an extended warranty for our washing machine. She didn’t know what brand we have or how old it is. When he asked the cost, she said she wasn’t certain but guessed “around £49”. My husband’s a lawyer, and I was telling him to hang up right away since it was obviously a scam. He was really courteous to her though - much kinder than I’d have been!

Got a call from this number at about 8:30 this morning. A person with an accent from the Far East told me my washing machine warranty had expired and asked if I wanted to renew it. I told them my washing machine is actually 27 years old, so yes, I'd love to extend it. Then they just hung up on me. Proper cheek!

I received a call from a number listed on my mobile that had its origins in Armagh, Northern Ireland. The caller had a rather refined English accent and addressed me directly. When I acknowledged their request, they politely greeted me with a “good morning, Sir.” Oddly enough, just as I was about to respond further, the call dropped-possibly catching them off guard since it was already half four in the afternoon? Quite the peculiar encounter!

Rang me about 10 this mornin', but the message was all glitchy and I couldn't catch what they was sayin', then they just dropped the call.

Didn't even leave a message - what was the point of the call?

Got a phone call from someone pushing washing machine insurance. What’s creepy is she already knew my name and where I live, then asked me to confirm my dob!

It took them a while to reply, spoke with a strange accent and wanted to speak to someone who doesn’t even live here.

Got two calls back to back in under five mins, both times it just went straight to voicemail with this really annoying crackly noise playing. So weird!

02837600521 Every time I answer it, there’s just a voice saying ‘Goodbye’ before the call gets cut off! Honestly, there should be a category like ‘EXTREMELY FRUSTRATING’ cause these random calls never stop. This same number’s been flagged here over 1,700 times - what exactly does ‘Who Called Me’ plan to do about these constant nuisance calls?

They called just once, then immediately cut off the call.

Got a call about renewing my washing machine warranty, sounded dodgy right off the bat. Pretty sure it's a scam, they kept pushing for my bank info! Watch out, folks!

I had a rather dubious call on the 12th of November, supposedly regarding an upgrade on my dishwasher insurance. The accent raised my eyebrows, so I queried which company he represented. He responded, rather indistinctly, that it was Domestic and General. I inquired further about their location, and he reluctantly mentioned Leeds. Without skipping a beat, he lunged straight into a forceful pitch for two so-called "policies" and claimed he would put me through to another "manager". I swiftly indicated my disinterest and hung up. Cheers, Rod.

They said they were from Domestic and General, trying to get me to renew a warranty or something. It’s not really a scam, but honestly, do you wanna keep paying their monthly fee, or just ring someone to fix your washing machine if it actually stops working? In the long run, calling out a repair guy might be cheaper. Your choice really.

Got a cover for my washer - pure frustration!

They've called me several times these past few days. I didn’t pick up this time, but when I did last time, there was nothing said, just complete silence.

I chose not to pick up. Figured it was probably just a scam call.

Got a call where all I got was some weird crackling noise on my answerphone. This happened twice in under five minutes, proper strange and silent both times.

Got a call from this number claiming I was owed some accident compensation and asking for my bank info, so I just ended the call straight away.

This number rang me earlier today. I didn't pick up straight away, and they just hung up without saying anything. Usually, these calls show up first thing in the morning, which makes me worry there could be an emergency with someone in my family, so I tend to answer.

I recently got a rather perplexing phone call from this number. The voice on the other end was rather muffled and difficult to discern, but they claimed to be representing Legal and General. They mentioned something about the warranty on my washing machine coming to an end. When I pointed out that my washing machine isn't covered by L&G at all, they promptly ended the call. I’d strongly recommend steering clear of this number!

They said they were from Domestic and General about my washing machine warranty or something. This is the second time in like five months I've gotten a call about this. I told them I wasn’t bothered and then they just dropped the call!

Total rip off!

They rang me up saying it was about a washing machine warranty, but I don’t even own one! When I asked her to take my number off their list, she just flat out refused. What a load of time-wasting rubbish, these people are proper scammy pests.

This number called me two times within a few weeks. They were using my married surname, which I haven’t gone by in ages. Seems like they’re working off some outdated records or something.

Cheers for the update. Got a call today but my phone wanted some details first. The guy said his name was George and tried to connect me, but then they just dropped the call. Same thing happened on my mobile as well.

Got a call today from someone saying they were Domestic and General about my washing machine warranty. When I asked for details about the machine, she couldn’t give me a proper answer and just ended the call.

Got a call claiming to be from Domestic & General about a washing machine warranty. When I asked if they were actually based in the UK, they just ended the call. I'm on the TPS list, so no idea how they got through. Sometimes I wonder if it’s bad to hope they all catch a nasty bug like Covid and can’t bother anyone anymore!
