When I attempted to ring them back, no one picked up, and I just heard a message saying they would be on strike from the next day. Whenever I’ve been contacted by the genuine care team, their number always comes up, so I advise against answering this call-it's a total scam. The trust hasn’t got a clue who these people are, nor do they have any record of calls made to my number. Please be vigilant; I never let anyone into my home without verifying their identity first. If something feels off, don’t hesitate to confirm their details-snap a photo of their ID and alert the police; they’ll sort it out.

I received a rather dubious phone call late on Sunday evening from someone alleging to be associated with the Domiciliary care services under the Southern Trust banner. Although the number did belong to the Trust, it seems it may have been compromised. Upon contacting the Trust the following day, they confirmed that no one from their team had made any calls at that hour. It’s quite likely that the caller was attempting to exploit the situation, banking on the fact that an elderly individual living alone might unwittingly open their door for what was promised as a legitimate visit, potentially exposing them to theft. Families might unknowingly leave their doors ajar for authentic care providers, but the timing would have been orchestrated by the fraudulent caller rather than the Trust itself. I strongly urge anyone to verify with the Trust directly and to remain cautious about recorded messages.
