Got a call at 10:25 am on 19 March 2018 from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from Microsoft. The voice told me there was some scam under my name and warned me about my computer. I got quite annoyed and told her it’s my choice whether to turn on my computer or not. She then started threatening that they’d block my computer account if I didn’t comply, saying someone had fraudulently used my account. After that, I just hung up.

There was a bit of quiet before the person on the line said they were from Microsoft and that my PC was infected with a virus. They started giving me instructions about which buttons to hit, but got really rude when I told them those keys weren’t where they said they’d be. They then accused me of not actually being at my computer and threatened to lock it so it wouldn’t function anymore. I just told them, “Go ahead and try, I doubt you can,” and hung up straight away!

Got a call from 02835410020, these scammers pretend they're from BT but have a really dodgy foreign accent. They try to scare you saying your computer’s leaking info and push you to go online and punch in some numbers on Google. When you can’t or won’t do it, they get rude and shouty. They even said they’d ring me again, Monday at 10:30! Honestly, everyone should report this straight to Action Fraud UK since it’s clearly phishing. If you want to block calls like this, BT’s Free Call Protect with 1572 works well.

At 8 in the morning, some scammer rang my 91-year-old grandma saying she needed to update her computer. She was proper frustrated about being woken up so early and told the caller off about it. Yeah, total scammers. They said they were from Microsoft and somehow already had my name and address. They started going on about some CLSID number to try and convince me they recognised my "Windows computer." I googled what that is - something to do with command prompt and the word “assoc” - and apparently that number isn’t unique to any one PC at all. Pretty sure it’s just a trick scammers use to sound convincing.

Proper rude and quite offensive! This bloke pretended to be from Microsoft and got really cheeky when I mentioned my brother works there globally. Then he had the nerve to ask for my brother's licence number - I turned it around and asked for his instead, saying if he's legit he'd have one too. That didn't go down well at all, and he started swearing up a storm! I keep a record of these calls and have nearly filled three A4 pages by now. They always seem to ring from different numbers. Just got a call not long ago from a woman with an Indian accent claiming to be from “Microsoft.” I told her to buzz off right away. Obviously a total scam - Microsoft wouldn’t be phoning me like that.

Got a call yesterday around 3.37pm and then another one early this morning at about 8.20. The caller started asking questions about my laptop and desktop. I always just say I don’t have those and then hang up. Seems pretty obvious it’s some sort of scam.
