I suspect there’s a problem with my internet speed. I had a hunch it was a scam right from the start.

Looks like a visa scam to me. The number they gave out isn’t real - it’s just a fake one they use to hide where they’re actually calling from.

I got a call about some money spent on a Visa card for Ebay. I have shopped on Ebay not long ago, but definitely not for that much. So I just hung up and jotted down the number that called me.

Around 9:15 this morning, I got a call telling me there was a transaction on an Amazon account. I didn’t go along with what they asked, but I did write down the number and tried to call it back - only for the line to disconnect.

Got two calls today with automated messages claiming to be from my bank. They said my card had been used and there were payments made on Amazon - one for about £300 and another for over £1000. I just blocked the number straight away.

I got a voicemail claiming they were from both Visa and Mastercard (bit odd, right?) trying to sound legit. Then they talked about a £500 purchase, which was obviously dodgy, so I just hung up straight away. Sounds like a total scam to me.

I keep receiving daily calls about some peculiar transactions that supposedly involve my account. It's becoming quite bothersome, to say the least!

I received a call from someone purporting to be from Microsoft's tech support. When I expressed my doubts and asked him to cease calling, he became quite rude and aggressive.

I received a call from a gentleman who asserted he was from Microsoft. He was quite courteous in his tone, yet his accent bore no resemblance to anything local, without a hint of Northern Irish origin. When I inquired about the weather in my area, he struggled to come up with an excuse for why he couldn’t share that information. Honestly, I’d advise this chap to take a long walk off a short pier!

This was definitely a banking scam. Since they called my landline, I’m not sure why no one’s put a stop to them yet. Feels like they should have been caught by now!

Got a call from someone saying they were from a bank, didn’t say which one, claiming I’d done two transactions. They told me to press 1 to cancel them or to speak with someone. Honestly, just ignore it and hang up - it’s definitely a scam. They keep ringing from all sorts of different numbers, so it’s tricky to block them properly. Don’t get roped in!

Got a call from someone pretending to be from my bank's security team, but man, they sounded like total numpties trying to pull off a scam.

I got caught off guard by a awful banking scam recently. They said there was a £300 charge to Amazon and another £1100 sent abroad, which was terrifying. If you’re not paying full attention, it’s easy to fall for it. One big red flag is they never say what bank they’re from - maybe that’s because it started after my ansaphone picked up. Instead, they just jump right into saying stuff like "the first charge is..." without giving any context, and parts of the message are missing or cut off, making it just confusing. Definitely watch out!

So someone rang me up pretending to be from BT, saying some strange IP addresses were messing with my account. They even looked at my email and sent me a PIN from what looked like an official BT email. I told them the PIN, but then I got another email saying my password was changed. When they asked me to open up a terminal window on my computer, I just hung up and then quickly changed my BT password.
