I received a peculiar recorded message the other day, delivered by a female voice that boasted a rather pronounced American accent. The message purported to be from BT, but the phrases used were a bit odd, including "We are hereby to inform you..." Quite the suspicious claim, if you ask me! It asserted that my Internet service was on the brink of being cut off, and if I wanted to go ahead and terminate it, I should press "1"-as for “2,” that detail has completely slipped my mind. I must admit, I've been ignoring this same message for months, but I finally thought to ring “1471” to trace the number. As expected, my Internet is still fully operational-funny thing is, I haven’t even got my broadband through BT anymore!
