Had a call from a woman with an Asian accent, saying she was from BT. When I asked for my account details and name, she couldn't provide them. She then told me I was wasting her time, so I just ended the call.

If it's from BT, it's connected to two different numbers that have called me recently: 01350 709878 and 01629 879789. Seems like I’m getting one of these calls daily now. There were two calls from this number. The first one was strange, just silence, then a beep followed by an automated voice saying goodbye. Later, a bloke rang saying my internet might be hacked. I said I’d connect him to IT, since they handle all tech stuff here. He seemed puzzled and asked what I meant. I explained he’d reached a shop, and IT handles our computer problems. He hung up quicker than anyone I’ve ever spoken to before.

BT really ain't the same anymore, HA HA. My rule is if someone cold calls me, they're probably up to no good, so I give it right back at ’em.

Got a call from an Asian woman claiming to be from BT’s tech team, going through the usual spiel. I just kept replying with “right” and “okay” as she rambled on. Then I told her flat out it was a scam, but she kept denying it and saying “no ma’am, no ma’am.” I wasn’t having it and said she was just after getting into my PC. You wouldn’t believe it - she just hung up on me! How cheeky. Anyway, blocked the number now. ❤️

Got a call from this Asian woman saying she was calling on behalf of BT. She told me some bloke from abroad was messing with our internet and asked me to switch on my PC so she could 'fix' it for me. I humoured her and said I was turning it on but instead left the phone near my radio so she could hear music while I wasted her time. Eventually she got bored and hung up. Classic!

So, yesterday on the 28th of Jan, got a call from an Asian woman saying she was from BT's Tech Support about my internet. It's just like what others have mentioned here. Got the same number ringing again today. I have my phone set to auto answer, so I quickly checked by dialling 1471 to see who'd called.

Got a call from some Indian lady claiming she was from a company I'd never heard of, saying there was something wrong with my network. Total scam, no doubt. What I usually do with these calls is say "hold on a sec" then just put the phone down without hanging up and carry on with whatever I was doing. That way, while they're waiting, they’re just stuck there on the line and not bothering anyone else.

On 19/01/2019 I got a call from 02795842171, it was an Asian woman but I ended the call straight away. Back in Dec 2018, an Asian bloke called me and somehow switched on my camera which really freaked me out. Thankfully I’d already put some tape over my laptop camera, so it didn’t capture anything. Seriously, I’d tell everyone to always cover their laptop cams, you never know who might try this.

Security BT called me again, really hoping they’d stop by now. Every time they ring, I’m left wondering if it’s legit or just another hassle. It’s the same story each time, can’t they find someone else to bother?

I received a call from someone claiming to be part of BT's technical team, stating my computer was allegedly sending out virus-laden messages. They offered to "fix" the issue, trying to get me to input a specific code on my computer. I can’t stress enough how important it is to avoid this trap-doing so would grant them access to your device and let them harvest sensitive info like your banking details. When faced with this, I often respond with something along the lines of, “That’s peculiar, as I don’t own a computer or have internet access,” which usually leads to them hanging up in a huff.

Every day before 9am, I get calls from someone saying they’re from BT’s Technical department about internet security. Don’t trust them with any details. You can either hang up straight away or ask for their EIN or OUC ID - BT staff always have those. When I asked, they just ended the call.

Got a call not long ago from some bloke saying he was from BT, talking about my internet being unsafe. They push you to install some software like teamviewer so they can take over your computer, mess it up on purpose, and then ask for cash to fix it. Got a call from someone saying they were from BT support but it was definitely a scam. They were pretty pushy and rude. When I matched their tone and pushed back, the calls stopped for a while, but they’ve started ringing again now. If you pick up, whatever you do, don’t share any info - it’s a con!
