Got a phone call from a bloke claiming to be with British Telecom saying there’s a problem with my internet.
I just replied with ‘Yeah, right’. Then the line cut off. Pretty clear it’s a dodgy scam.

I got a call from a woman with an accent claiming to be from BT, saying there was an issue with my internet. I told her I don’t even use BT and my internet was working fine, then just ended the call.

Today I went to see my elderly relative who’s 96, and her phone went off while I was there. She picked up, but no one said anything, even though there was chatter in the background. She mentioned she gets these weird calls pretty often. I ended up calling 1471 to find out the number and noted it down, promising to look into who might have been ringing.

Got another call today from the same bloke, said he was from BT but used a totally different name this time, not Eric Johnson or Jordan Smith like before. Seems dodgy to me.

They were quiet for a bit during the call, so I just put the phone down. Must have been earlier this week when I got another call from someone claiming to be British Telecom. They asked if I was the primary account holder and mentioned something about the internet, saying they'd received some details. I didn’t say anything personal and told them they ought to sort out my internet speed because it’s absolutely dreadful.

When I tried to ask this guy some questions, he ended up threatening me pretty badly. It freaked me out so much I had to tell the cops about it. Do yourself a favour and don’t waste any time talking to him, he’s just trying to get remote control of your PC. He’ll tell you to head over to a site like [#]teamviewer{###}. Trust me, this bloke is definitely a scammer.

Some bloke with a weird accent said he was called Jordan Smith and said he worked for BT. He asked if I was the primary user of my computer. I just hung up on him, but then he rang me four more times! I’ve now gone ahead and blacklisted the number.

Some bloke with a funny accent said he was Jordan Smith, working for BT or something. He asked if I was the primary user of the computer!!
I ended the call but he rang back like four times after that.
I've blocked the number now.

This number rang me 7 times, with some bloke claiming my internet had loads of rubbish piling up. His English was rough, but he said his name was Eric Johnson. Honestly, it felt really pushy and annoying.

Just got a call where no one spoke, and they left no voicemail. Pretty weird.

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from BT, said there was an issue with my internet. I asked what it was about and he just said he needed to talk to the senior manager. When I asked what they wanted from me, it was like going round in circles. Told them they’d got the wrong person, then he kept asking who I was. I asked where they got my number but he wasn’t giving me any straight answers. Then I said I don’t even have a computer and he just went “oh right, bye”.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from British Telecom, spoke with a heavy foreign accent. Said my internet was hacked and offered to help, asked me to open my laptop and log into their site. When I pressed them for proof, like if they had my IP or DOB on file, they got really annoyed. Told them they were talking rubbish and hung up. They rang straight back, telling me not to be rude, lol. Best to ignore calls like this and never share personal info.

This number rang me twice within a couple days, both times with someone speaking with a foreign accent claiming to be from British Telecom, but not actually BT. They said there was an issue with my internet connection. I told them the call was totally illegal and asked them not to contact me again. They were trying to get me to let them access my internet, probably to stop these calls or so they said.

yeah, just like what others mentioned. had this guy call me with a foreign accent claiming he was from British Telecom, telling me to unplug my computer immediately because there was some kind of issue. i just said back, well that’s strange since i don’t even own a computer and never have. (didn’t want to make it obvious but it threw him off!) he replied with a quick 'oh, right then'. honestly, these scammers really need to be sorted out.

Some bloke called me up with a funny accent, said he was from BT and needed just five minutes. Apparently, there’s a problem with my internet, he said. Seemed a bit fishy if you ask me.

Twice now this number has rung me, but the line was so distorted I couldn’t make out a word. The static was awful. I’m definitely not returning the call.
