I got a call from 07472811582 saying there were two big purchases made on my credit card. When I tried ringing them back with 1471, the answer was "this number has not been recognised." Felt like a dodgy scam to me.

I've been continually receiving calls from some dodgy number. It's definitely a scammer on the other end!

Got a call from this number earlier. I wasn’t convinced by what she said, so I questioned her. She ended up calling me a "load of rubbish" before just hanging up on me.

Got a call the other day where they just stayed quiet for a bit then suddenly said 'good bye' before hanging up. Quite weird honestly.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who asked for me by name. I told her she must have dialled the wrong number. She said sorry and then hung up.

These last two days I've had calls from this number. I didn’t know who it was so I just let it ring out to voicemail. The weird thing is, nobody left any message or anything.

Got a call from a guy with an Indian accent claiming to be from British Telecom, asking if I’d been having any trouble with my internet recently. I haven’t noticed any issues (fingers crossed I’m not jinxing it), so I just ended the call and rang 1471 to check the number.

She gave me 02032870754, but when I checked with BT's 1471, it was a different number altogether. Does anyone reckon there's a gadget that could lock the call on, so these pest callers can't hang up and leave you stuck with a massive bill? Maybe I could blast Wagner’s entire Ring Cycle down the receiver while they’re trapped!

What an intriguing encounter I had! This individual speaking with a Subcontinental lilt was particularly persistent! She asserted she represented BT; however, I couldn't help but remark on how abysmal the connection was. I proposed that she provide me her name (there was a rather awkward silence) and her phone number (yet another pause, perhaps for contemplation) since the number she initially offered wasn’t this one at all. According to BT's 1471, the digits she gave were 02032870754, which I've since discovered has been reported elsewhere with the same old sales pitch. One must wonder, can’t BT devise some sort of technology to put a stop to these calls, so they can’t hang up at their leisure (=and generate those lofty BT bills)? If given the chance, I could have them sit through the entirety of the Wagner Ring cycle-now that would be a most enlightening experience!

I received a rather suspicious call earlier today claiming that my internet was being accessed by mysterious individuals after midnight. They provided me with the number 020-328-7054, identifying themselves as 'BT Technical Services.' Naturally, I declined their request to perform a 'diagnostic run' on my computer. When I dialled the number back, I spoke with an Indian gentleman who assured me he was indeed from BT. Quite the cunning scam, so be vigilant, everyone!

I made it clear that my internet was functioning perfectly well, but she persisted, urging me to speak more distinctly. I reiterated that there was absolutely no issue with my service, and before I knew it, she abruptly ended the call! This isn’t the first time I’ve encountered something like this; previously, a man with a similar accent attempted to get me to log into my computer. When I told him I didn’t own one, he became quite aggressive, accusing me of lying! I firmly told him to refrain from calling this number ever again and hung up. It seems I’ll be taking the step to block this number now.
