Got a call from a bloke called Peter, said he's with BT. He mentioned some dodgy stuff happening and claimed there were two calls this morning risking my private info. When he asked what I wanted done, I said sorry but can’t discuss that and ended the call. Total scam alert. Before this, had some fake BT caller from Adelaide ring me. I’m not a BT customer, and BT definitely doesn’t watch over my phone - plus I actually work for them!

Got that call from the same bloke like three times in the space of five minutes, claiming there was an issue with my IP address and threatening to block it. Thing is, my phone line ain’t with BT. He turned quite rude when I asked to speak to his manager, but he refused. So I told him straight up he was a con artist. My mother-in-law originally answered the phone and it really threw her off, made her feel uneasy. I told him if he bothered me again, I’d be taking it to the police for harassment.

Got a call from someone with a strong African accent saying they were from BT. They told me my internet was blocked because of some issue, but I was actually online and everything seemed fine at that moment. I didn’t hang around to see what they wanted and just ended the call straight away.

Got a call earlier from someone who said his name was Eric Smith and that he worked for BT. Like other folks have mentioned, he claimed there was some dodgy activity happening on my internet. I told him to give me his number so I could ring back and speak to his manager first. He gave me the number 02031296105. As soon as I ended the call, I checked the actual number by dialling 1471 and found out it was 02697652048 instead. Clearly, a scammer trying it on.

Had a call from an Asian man saying my internet was having issues. I kept the chat going for about 7 minutes until I lost interest. Figured those 7 minutes were better than some other poor soul getting hassled. Whatever you do, don't take his advice seriously. It's definitely a scam.

I swear, having an answering machine has been a lifesaver for me. Every time a call comes through and the machine picks up, they just seem to hang up straight away. It’s like they don’t wanna leave a message or something. Really makes me glad I got one!

Got a few calls in a row from some bloke who said he was Geoff Thompson, claiming to be with BT in London about my internet issues. Sounded Indian and called me about 6 times within just five minutes. Felt like they were just hassling me, really annoying.

When I answered, I could hear loads of noise like it was a busy call centre in India, but the person on the other end didn’t realise I was actually on the line. I switched my phone to speaker and just let it ring for a bit. After a few minutes of random background chat and some muffled voices, someone tried to say hello a few times with a strong accent. I didn’t say anything and eventually they just dropped the call.

Some bloke with an Asian accent who said his name was Eric rang me, claiming he was from BtT and that there was dodgy stuff happening on my internet. Total scam. I’m not even a BT customer. The government really needs to step in and enforce rules to catch these scammers. They try to trick you into giving them remote access to your PC, and then they might lock you out or pinch your bank info. Proper nasty stuff.

Got a call from some bloke claiming he was from BT, saying there was an issue with my phone line and it would be cut off. I just said fine, go ahead, I’m actually with Virgin Media. He started going on about BT being the ‘main provider’ everyone depends on. I kept him talking for about 10 minutes, then told him he’d wasted his time and ended the call. Felt pretty good about that one!

Around 10:30 this morning here in the UK, I got a call from this number that showed up as international. I answered but kept quiet, and they just hung up straight away. Then at about half past one, the same number rang again, even though I’d blocked it on my phone. I didn’t answer this time and let it go to voicemail, but of course, there was no message left. Pretty sure it’s just some kind of scam.

Got a call from a bloke speaking with a heavy indian accent who kept butchering my pretty usual name. He said his name was david and told me he was from my internet company. Since the account's actually under my partner's name, i just ended the call. Definitely felt like a scam to me.

Got a call from a man with an Asian accent, claiming they had to cut off my internet because someone else was on my line. Then this guy passes the phone to his 'supervisor'. It’s such a typical scam - as soon as I brought up the police and said it sounded dodgy, they just ended the call immediately.
